This weekend, GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Zach Williams will headline the 25th Rock the Universe Christian music festival at Universal Orlando. Williams is among a large group of popular artists and groups performing, including Skillet, Bethel Music, Tauren Wells, Matthew West, CAIN, and Dante Bowe.
Embarking on his “A Hundred Highways” tour in March to support his new album, Williams is excited to debut five new songs from the record on Saturday night, along with a larger band.
“We’re going to play a handful of new songs,” he said. “We’re traveling with a larger band now, including a full horn section and background singers. We’re bringing it all with us.”
The “Chain Breaker” singer, who recently appeared in the NBC special “Dolly Parton’s Magic Mountain Christmas,” said the uniqueness of the event is how it reaches beyond the typical listeners of Christian music with a special opportunity to create more fans.
“You have people just walking the park, they’re going to walk by to go to a ride,” he said. “My hope is they’re going to hear something that draws them into the message. That’s what we’re trying to do. I think it’s cool that you can have a platform and stage and you can share the gospel freely, from all walks of life.”
