Since It’s Too Hot in Dallas….

Tomorrow, Catherine and I head to Thousand Islands which is in Ontario, Canada for a week of rest and relaxation with friends. Yes, yes I know some of you think we don’t work and we are the last people in the world who need a vacation but the truth is we haven’t traveled for pleasure since our one year anniversary in January.

Anyway, it’s way too hot in Dallas right now and this will be a perfect escape for us. We’ll be spending time with my best friend’s family who own the cabin up there. I’m going to go ahead and say that vacation houses are a lot like boats- it’s always better to know a friend who owns one rather than actually owning one yourself.

So this week, I’m turning off my phone and taking it back to the days of sitting around a camp fire on a summer night and roasting Smores until I feel like throwing up. Just the idea of escaping emails, phone calls and texts puts a smile on my face.
