Lighting the World, One Candle at a Time

Lighting the World, One Candle at a Time November 11, 2012

It is easy for us to let our possibilities carry us away.

We each have vast reserves of untapped potential. We can accomplish whatever we set our minds to do. One person can change the world in significant ways. We can make a difference; we can make things better.

It is important for us to remember that life is not really about choosing which significant changes we will accomplish. It is not a contest in which we compete to bring light into the lives of as many people as we can.

We need to remember that life is not all about us and what we do.

It is important that we recognize and appreciate the ways we can help, and at least as important that we act and help in ways that flow out of our deepest selves. As we grow into and revel in our true selves, we will connect with the true selves around us in new ways. Life is not about the quantity of fire we share, it is about the intensity and authenticity of the flames that our connections spark.

We are presented with so many opportunities to share, and our flames feel unquenchable. We are the keepers of our flame. People grow and learn by finding the fire that is right for them.

Each of us is becoming the person, the pilgrim, that we can be. We shed our light in our corner of the world, and help spark the flames of people we meet. We are each part of the network of fire that brings light and heat to a cold, dark world.

Together, we help each other see the path.

What is igniting your heart today?

Whose heart are you sparking into flame?
