The 2020 Freedom Sigil

The 2020 Freedom Sigil December 19, 2019

The 2020 Freedom Sigil was created on December 18th, 2019 – the evening the presidential impeachment was made official and confirmed by the House of Representatives.  I felt compelled by a similar energy that birthed the Power Sigil back in 2016.  This time (and similar to many of the other sigils I’ve shared here), I wanted to pull from the hearts and minds of more people than myself. And infused with a bit of Solstice energy – the balance of extremes.

With the goal of strongly moving forward for positive change to take place in a timely manner, more than sixty people gave input for what they felt should be included in this sigil.  Using that focus and energy, the 2020 Freedom sigil was created.  The name may seem simple, but 2020 is not only the new year, but a term used to talk about focusing of vision and clarity – and freedom is never given – it is fought for and won.

What’s In This Sigil?
The design went through 12 variations before landing on the 13th final form and was scanned in for digital distribution. The following has been built into this sigil:
– Revelation, perception, and reception of Truth (destroy illusions/attempts to deceive)
– Justice and actions that serve it, scales
– Accountability
– Protection for those who need it, and exposure for those who hide behind injustice
– Progress being made towards a better future for all (people& planet)
– Lightning
– Triumph of Integrity
– Clear the Tower and its debris in order to build for tomorrow
– Forward momentum
– Tyr
– Trebuchet
– Spine
– Healing & Hope
– Strength & Power to the people
– Motivation at the Root Level to bring change throughout

NOTE: The color of the sigil does not have to be copied.  The digital version is technically a blue-violet (screens may of course vary), which some magical traditions see as a color of power, manifestation, and protection.  The internal and eternal flame. But any color may be used to suit your needs.

Who May Use This Sigil?
The sigil can be used by anyone in any country to help make 2020 a year for freedom from the aging structures that bind and bend us – as individuals as well as a society and greater global community. Freedom from corruption, inequality, bigotry, racism, and all the fears that impose upon basic human rights and dignity – as well as the health of the planet. Freedom to help bring effective, lasting change that moves all of humanity forward without leaving anyone behind.

How To Use This Sigil
You are welcome to use this sigil however you see fit that is in alignment with the intent of the sigil.  As long as it’s not used for profit/commercially, you can wear it, share it, draw it in appropriate places, make signs of it, put it on candles, use it for blessings and other forms of protection, and so forth.  You  can use it to lend support to others who are working for justice, or as an antidote for those working against justice.

This sigil -as are all of the shared magick sigils you’ll find on this blog – are meant to be used in conjunction with what is within your ability to accomplish locally at a mundane level. The sigil enhances and empowers those actions, and lends aid to others working in a similar fashion.
