A Trip to the ER; A reckoning for the “anyone but Hillary” vs the “anyone but Donald” couple July 26, 2016

Fortunately, a hospital is nearby and there was no traffic. The “anyone but Hillary” partner got out of the car and hobbled to the sidewalk in his walking cast supported by his cane. He waited here to take the hand of his “anyone but Donald” spouse for steadiness so I, lightheaded and breathless, could walk in the door.

Pretty pitiful. We did decide then that only one at a time may get sick in the future.

Within two minutes, I was surrounded by medical personnel, quickly hooked up to all sorts of monitors and drips, and then experienced a “reboot” of my heart. When things settled down, I also received a stern warning: I must get follow-up care. This had passed inconvenient and uncomfortable to serious emergency.

It scared the **** out of the “anyone but Hillary” spouse. We went to bed that night reaffirming our incredible love for each other and gratefulness at having found one another.

And today? We were right back into a political argument, each of us loudly accusing the other of supporting the most morally-compromised candidate the US has ever seen; both sure that the other is willfully blind to the things that utterly discredit our respective party’s candidates.
