During our trip we heard an interesting story about a current holy man. We spoke to someone who had been his friend in university and is now a disciple.
Apparently this man used to be a staunch atheist and he would travel the country debating religious people. And then his grandmother took him to see the Shankaracharya at the time and like love at first sight, his life changed instantly. He dedicated himself to the Shankaracharya as his guru. (This story is not meant to claim that all atheists are just waiting for the right religion to touch their hearts. It just happened to be that way in this particular case).
The guru insisted that he finish his studies but after that he’s spend the rest of his life dedicated to advaita philosophy.
I find this story so inspiring and beautiful because I think it really illustrates that there is a right path for each person and when you find it you know.
