Episode 1
January 6th Anniversary & Moderate Evangelicals
It's been one year since the insurrection attempt at The Capitol. We talk about where we were on Jan. 6th 2021 and play our individual TikTok videos we made on that day. We also discuss the aftermath in the evangelical church and how Jan. 6th was the catalyst for many of us to officially become EXvangelicals. But what about moderate evangelical pastors who have remained silent despite Qanon and other conspiracies flooding their churches? We dive into why remaining silent is problematic. Follow us on Tiktok, IG, FB & Twitter: @evangelicalish, @pastorpaul_tiktok, @pastorfromok, @aprilajoy Join Our Private Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1024639534974464 Please leave us a review wherever you listen to us and subscribe to our YouTube Channel where we record these episodes live: https://www.youtube.com/c/Evangelicalish/

Ted Cruz Hypocrisy & LGBTQ Christians - Side A, Side B & Side X
In this episode, we discuss Ted Cruz headlines of the week. He had a moment of courage talking about January 6th but completely walked it back on Tucker Carlson's show. He was also in the news recently because of things his daughter said on TikTok. This leads us into a discussion on Christian parents and how they respond to their kids coming out as LGBTQ. We go into the different viewpoints on LGBTQ issues within evangelicalism: Side A, Side B and Side X. We also talk about the phrase "love the sinner, hate the sin" and how it's actually harmful and problematic. We're planning on coming to a city near you. Discussing New Research on Religious Trauma
So often we hear Christians say of deconstructionists "oh they are hurt." Well, turns out scientific research says this is likely true, but ought to be treated as a negative attribute of the American Christian Church, not as an excuse to victim-blame but it. Guest Darren Slade's organization, the Global Center for Religious Research, defines religious trauma as resulting "from an event, series of events, relationships, or circumstances within or connected to religious beliefs, practices, or structures that is experienced by an individual as overwhelming or disruptive and has lasting adverse effects on a person’s physical, mental, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being." For more information or to access resources about religious trauma, check out the Global Center for Religious Research website at https://www.gcrr.org/ Darren Slade is a theological historian, systematician, and critical rationalist philosopher from Denver, Colorado. Specializing in historic-speculative theology, theoretical metaphysics, and the socio-political development of religious belief systems, Darren's academic publications include topics ranging from the philosophy of religion, ancient Near Eastern and Second-Temple hermeneutical practices, church and Islamic history, and the psychology of religion.

Losing loved ones to the pandemic was a tragedy, but losing loved ones to the rabbit hole was its own tragedy and Cynane needed to understand the “why.” So from Flat Earth to the IBLP cult to Jewish space lasers, she pulled the thread, cracked her faith, and found the inseparable link between cults, conspiracy theories, and American White Christian Nationalism.
