Hummel is the Director of The Lumen Center in Madison, WI and a research fellow in the History Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his PhD in American history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been a research fellow at the Institute for Research in the Humanities and the Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University. He is the author of two books: Covenant Brothers: Evangelicals, Jews, and U.S.-Israel Relations and The Rise and Fall of Dispensationalism: How the Evangelical Battle Over the End Times Shaped a Nation.
