November: The Election of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States

Pretty much one story dominated all of media, including Muslim-oriented media in November: the election of Donald J. Trump as president of the United States. Though Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, Trump took the electoral college, much to the surprise of many. Nearly every article on Altmuslim this month was election-geared, from an essay by Sh. Hamza Yusuf asking American Muslims to look beyond fear, to a piece mourning the election results, to another challenging Muslim communities to find their way forward.
