Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?

Dear President Obama,

You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next.  You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha.  After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way:

“One of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on,” you said.  “I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.”

And I totally agree your kids should be able to speak their minds and engage the culture.  I look forward to seeing what good things Malia and Sasha end up doing with their lives.

But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung.  Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family.  He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.”  (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)

If Maher talked about Malia and Sasha that way, you’d return his dirty money and the Secret Service would probably have to restrain you.  After all, I’ve always felt you understood my plight more than most because your mom was a teenager.  That’s why you stood up for me when you were campaigning against Sen. McCain and my mom — you said vicious attacks on me should be off limits.

Yet I wonder if the Presidency has changed you.  Now that you’re in office, it seems you’re only willing to defend certain women.  You’re only willing to take a moral stand when you know your liberal supporters will stand behind you.

What if you did something radical and wildly unpopular with your base and took a stand against the denigration of all women… even if they’re just single moms? Even if they’re Republicans?

I’m not expecting your SuperPAC to return the money.  You’re going to need every dime to hang on to your presidency.  I’m not even really expecting a call.  But would it be too much to expect a little consistency?  After all, you’re President of all Americans, not just the liberals.

The Palins are uneducated sensationalists. Mr. Obama does not have the time to play into their nonsense, and that is just what it is. The Palins have done nothing, to contribute to society. The mother had her chance to become something, and when that failed, she went rogue, trying to destroy those who had something real to say. She is a hate spreader. And, an uneducated on at that.

Bristol Palin has done no more than any other young girl. She got pregnant, while her mother was preaching against having sex, outside of marriage. And, now she wants to be commended for it. Bristol Palin should go get an education, so that she can become a better person than her mother. It just might be too late though, because she is sounding more and more like her. These people do every and anything to stay in the media. He will NEVER call you Bristol, because you my dear do not deserve a call.

    • Veronica

“…done nothing, to contribute to society.”

      “She is a hate-spreader.”

“…you my dear do not deserve a call.”

You’re saying nasty, ugly things like this and ~she’s~ a hate-spreader? No one deserves to be degraded like that on national television. Everyone deserves to be granted dignity and respect. Furthermore, how do you know whether or not she has contributed to society? You don’t know her.

How many suicidal teenagers has she talked down? How much kindness and compassion has she spent on others? You don’t know. I don’t know, either. Because neither of us ~know~ her. The truth of it is, she should never have been dragged into any of this to begin with, but because her mother was running for office and she made some mistakes, Bristol gets pulled under the light to be examined.

She wasn’t the one running, and she should have been left alone!

But I guess it’s the nature of politics to stray away from the important issues and focus on your home life instead. That’s why we’re never going to get anywhere, because of people misdirecting their shortcomings on others.

Also, who are you to call anyone uneducated? You can’t call someone “uneducated” if you can neither put together decent rhetoric, nor manage to be objective in your argument. Also, “I’m entitled to my opinion,” doesn’t spare you from scrutiny when you’re wrongfully insulting someone.

If you don’t like being told you’re being nasty, then learn how to say nicer things. Trust me, it’s not hard.

      • J

nothing you quoted from the first commenter was nasty, and you know it. you’ve got no argument, sorry.

        • A friend

        • retlaw

Hey, J-is-for-Jackass, contradiction is not argument.

The first commenter, Elvira the Drunk, labelled Governor Palin a “hate-spreader”, but she cited no examples of Palin spreading hate. Why not? Because there are none.

Veronica, whom you ignorantly contradict, begins her comment with citations to demonstrate that Elvira’s the hater. With the oil pipelines she smoothed the way for alone, Palin’s done more for American society than most. And what’s with calling a female opponent “my dear”? That’s love speech, I suppose?

And the worst is Elvira Alcohol attacking the whole Palin family as uneducated. Leave families alone, you hater, no matter how much Ripple you tipple.

“Mr. Obama doesn’t have time…”? Well, that was Bristol’s point, you lush. He had time to call Sandra Fluke, he had time to call a press conference to slam Rush, so why no time to call Bristol about a much worse breach of “civility”?

Because President “Get-in-their-Faces” doesn’t care about civility, that was just a partisan dog-and-pony show.

    • http://blog Wilma Darnell

I am 61 years young, and I do not believe in “all of my days” that I have ever witnessed such “green-eyed jealousy” over two people as I have witnessed the obvious and paramount jealousy that people have displayed over Sarah Palin and Bristol Palin. Though I’m sure there’s people out there who might not agree with Sarah and/or Bristol, and that is their right, however, most of them don’t feel the way that some of you have expressed that you feel. I pity you! They are both, without a doubt, smart, talented, and beautiful – but that shouldn’t cause people to be jealous of them. Count your many blessings for your own attributes and don’t let jealousy eat you alive over the fine attributes of other people! I happen to think that Sarah is the woman for THE HOUR. As for Bristol, I think she is one of the finest young ladies I have ever read about. Did she make a mistake? Yes, but haven’t we all made mistakes in one way or another? God says that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God – let me emphasize ALL. What a better place America would be if we were all like the Palins. I will look forward to seeing what great things Bristol will accomplish! I also hope that one day Sarah Palin will run for President of the USA and win! Now, that is my opinion of great wisdom, and the best part, there is no charge for it. :o) People [women in particular], jealousy is a monster that we don’t need, give it up, and stop being so jealous of Sarah and Bristol. Thank God for the blessings and attributes you have been given. Have a blessed day and enjoy my words of wisdom! :o) Wilma

      • retlaw

        Great comment, Wilma!

When it comes to Bristol, I think the jealousy turns to coveting. People should leave candidates’ children out of the arena, but the Dems were so desperate in 2008 that they dragged Bristol and her baby brother in. They made “Bristol” a household word.

But Bristol took the lemons they pelted her with and made a very nice lemonade for herself! When “Dancing with the Stars” came knocking with a lucrative contract, Bristol bravely put herself out there, and she made a fine showing. (I’d have tripped over my feet!) Then came the book deal, and now the blog.

Certain Dems can’t stand this – that their malice has been turned. You see many of them here in the comments, whining and coveting.

        Palin 2020!

        • Sarah

lol, she didn’t make lemonade. She made the equivalent to one of those nasty flavored soda’s that come out every so often that everyone knows is going to be gross but they just have to try it once. A few months down the line it’s pulled from the shelves and forgotten about forever.

People like a train wreck and the Palin’s have given the public a good one.

The only way Palin is ever going to see the inside of the white house is if she’s standing behind the red rope next to the gift shop.

  • elvira walker

Moderators, you do not seem to show that, which appears to have a different slant from your own. By cutting out our voices, you are taking away our right to free speech. Everyone thinks different.

    • Stan mackey

Uneducated, eh? Learn, how, to, use, a, comma, dummy. Clearly, you contribute nothing to society either.

      • retlaw

This one’s just drunk, Stan. “…you do not seem to show that, which appears to have a different slant from your own…HIC!”

She’s probably face-down on her keyboard by now.

        • Stan mackey

If everyone talks different, then lemme ax u a question.

The idea of ebonics died in Oakland, ca a long time ago. Move on please

    • Millie

      elvira walke

When you don’t know how to intelligently dabate your differences in
opinion and you rant and rant and bash you need to be cut off. I
believe in free speech but with a civilize tongue!!!! Most of the ones
that approach their differences by ranting and bashing are not here
to discuss, you are only here to try and distroy out of hate. People
that do that usually have no idea of the background of the person and
what they have accomplished and what they stand for. You only know
that they are on the wrong side policially of yourself.

  • Kip

    Dear Bristol,

Please shut up, your family is irrelevant now that the whole country has realized how much of a hack your mom is.

He’ll need every dime to be reelected? Please, the rest of the sane US citizens should thank your mom for ruining the Republican party for the next few decades.

    • retlaw

Bristol’s mom’s in demand, dude. Millions and millions buy her books and tune into her show. Why, she’s so well known that guys come to her daughter’s blog to complain about it.

If the Prez doesn’t need every dime, how come he’s told the Congressional Dems he won’t share any dimes with them or take time to help them campaign? How come he’s cut back on his golf? It’s not snark, just the truth.

  • Momma Goose

Honestly Walter (retlaw), don’t you have better things to do all day than patrol this blog and rudely snap at other readers? There are much better hobbies where you could actually enrich your mind rather than play the lonely, snarky bully we all remember from high school.

I suggest picking up some political activism that would actually help someone in need. If that doesn’t appeal, try reading a book.

    • retlaw

      Dear Momma,

You sly boots, you cracked my code! :-) I’ll bet you’re good at the Jumble.

You think me a bully? Imagine if I went to Nancy Pelosi’s daughter’s blog and left sneering comments there about her mom and her family – I shudder to think of your opinion of me in THAT case!

But I can’t imagine that myself. The policies Pelosi champions are anathema to me. Her manner of expression annoys me. I’m not a fan, but I wouldn’t think of pulling a Code Pink stunt and interrupting her convention speech! Or protesting her appearance on campus and even trying to pie her face! (Activism, indeed – it’s just narcissism + bad manners.)

And my distaste for Nancy Pelosi certainly doesn’t extend to her family. I don’t know them! And if a Pelosi daughter came out in support of her mom, that wouldn’t make me mad – I like it when families stick together.

But you know what? Even if I were a sick enough puppy to extend my aggression to the children of my opponents, I’d like to think I would still have dignity enough not to go boo-hoo-hooing about “bullies” when I got a little push-back in a blog comment: “Wah! Some meanie with a backward name called me a hater! Just because I told Bristol her whole family’s uneducated!”

Are you among the haters, Goose? That commenter, LOL, at the top of this page – I’ll bet if he could anonymously push a button to kill the pet rabbit of Bristol’s youngest sister, just to make a little girl cry, he’d do it in a second. That’s your team, Momma Goose.

So what are YOU reading now? Do you recommend it?

  • shanda

I think pretty sad that a 20 y.o. can carry herself with more maturity and respect than a 40-50 y.o. man… spitting his vile insults then patting himself on the back afterwards. What a contrast in morals.

    • Veronica

  • andrea

So let me get this straight, you and your fame seeking mother complain about name calling, but earlier this year when your mother appeared on the talk radio show”The Bob and Mark Show, she laughed when he called one of her a “cancer” a “bitch” here is an little quote from the article and the link for your viewing pleasure.: “Palin, who knows full well Lyda Green is a cancer survivor, didn’t do what any decent person would do, say, “Bob, that’s going too far.”” and some more:”Governor you can’t say this but I will, Lyda Green is a cancer and a b—-.” Palin laughs for the second time.”
You might be able to fool some, but make no mistake the majority of Americans DO see through your and your mother’s bullshit. Nothing more than a money seeking liars.

    • Millie

But Obama is sure fooling you!!!!!

      • andrea

What does this has to do with O? I have given a specific incident that has happened and all you got is O fooling me? No opinion on the issue when confronted with something you do not want to hear? What part of my post makes u think I am all for O? Just because I think that the Palins are frauds, that automatically means I like Obama?

        • Veronica

Should Bristol be at fault for the things her mother says? If your mother goes crazy and shoots someone, do you go to jail with her?

No. Because that doesn’t make any sense.

What would be far more applicable to your point would be evidence of ~Bristol~ calling someone: ‘a cancer and a bitch’. Your example has nothing to do with the writer what-so-ever.

          Don’t you think that’s a little unfair?

          • andrea

She is a hypocrite just as her mother, make no mistake, she also benefits from all this. The Palins do nothing more than divide the people.
Their following is nothing more then a clique. Most Americans see them for what they really are.

    • retlaw

Andrea, that Huffpo article’s from August, 2008 – dirt slung just after Palin was chosen for the VP slot. It’s not from “earlier this year” as you claim. It refers to a local radio appearance in Anchorage the January before, when Palin was an obscure Governor.

The video, complete with that goofy pic of Governor Palin, didn’t load for me, but it sounds pretty innocuous even from the slanted description. She laughs when somebody’s called a “cancer”? We can’t mention cancer in front of cancer survivors? She laughs when the word “bitch” is mentioned?

      So what?

The Governor didn’t attack the woman herself, and she certainly didn’t attack her family. The radio guy was not obscene, let alone Palin.

What can your point be? Once she laughed when a radio guy called somebody a bitch, so she forfeits her right to complain when Charles C.K. goes on Opie and Anthony and “jokes” about Palin’s “disgusting, retard-making c**t”? Does it mean it’s okay to take a baseball bat to her children?

This Huffpo article was only trying to justify the Democrats horrible tactics in going after Palin’s family.

Why don’t you hang with your pals in the Huffpo comments – why come here?

    • retlaw

Speaking of attacks on cancer-survivors, I’m sure Andrea will be shocked to learn that a much more explicit one is going on RIGHT NOW in Wisconsin, where the lovely Lieutenant Governor is enduring misogynist hate from the usual suspects – DEMOCRATS.

Some hate-radio Dem named John “Sly” Sylvester from Madison’s WDTY said these things about LG Kleefisch:

“I’m Rebecca Kleefisch. I perform fellatio on all the talk show hosts in Milwaukee. … I got colon cancer and I ran around the state [garbled] people.”

“I had heard at one point that Rebecca Kleefisch pulled a train (having sex with several men one after another) but that must’ve been a different story I was reading about.”

“Let me tell you something about these Barbies the Republicans trot out the Rebecca Kleefisch’s…”

“I hope your husband is sleeping with your best friend.”

Nice, huh? But the Democrat was just getting warmed up. Next he goes after her kids:

“I love it that your kids have actually have to hear about what evil things you’re doing. I hope they have to hear it every day. And I hope they come home right to you. And just because you’re good looking — and she is — and just ‘cuz you’re cutes and I’m sure you got a precocious little daughter you put in little Jon Benet contests, and I’m sure you have a little jock son, and they come home and say ‘Mommy, they’re saying you’re a witch.’ You are a witch!”

John Nolte of BIG HOLLYWOOD comments:

“The attack on the Kleefisch’s children is quite intentional. We’ve seen the media do the same to Sarah Palin. The idea is to gut-punch the target, to attempt to make the price of staying in the public arena awful and toxic. The left’s hope, obviously, is that the target will shrivel up and go away. Well, this evil tactic didn’t work on Palin and I doubt it will on Kleefisch.

“But where is the media on this?”

And where’s Obama? He called a presser when a radio host said “slut”, and here’s a radio host saying much worse. Talk about your hypocrites, huh, Andrea?

      Link here:

Fight back by donating to Rebecca Kleefisch here:

  • andrea

I just find out who your mother’s handlers are; Rupert Murdoch, paid her 3mill for her appearance on fox, 7mill advance on “Going Rouge” the Koch brothers…need I say more? As I mentioned b4, u can fool some, but the majority sees you for what you are.

    • Millie

Again, the big news of the day is Obama is fooling you!!!!!

      • andrea

Once again, what does Obama has to do with facts? You are really so engrossed in Palin worship, that even facts escape you? Sad you are.

        • Millie

No Andrea we are tired of people spewing out
untruths about the Palin’s or anyone that
people will bash out of hate and to try to destory.

          • andrea

Untruth? Like what hun? She spews plenty of untruth. As I said…so engrossed in Palin worship, cannot see the truth.

          • retlaw

“The Palins do nothing more than divide the people.”

No, andrea-hun, it’s Obama dividing, and it’s his Chicago gang who invited you to hate Sarah Palin and her family. You knuckled your forehead and started hating – it’s you who’s so engrossed in hatred that you cannot see the truth.

Why are you hanging around here to spread your hate? Go away. But since you’re still here, answer my refutations of your comments, both above and below.

          • Jonie

Sometimes the truth appears hateful when the truth of a matter or person is too much to bear. Sarah P. is not a nice politician by any stretch of the imagination. She’s a barracuda who viciously bites at her victims.

          • retlaw

            Dear Jonie,

            Roses are red,
            Violets are blue,
            Your heart’s full of hate,
And your head’s full of poo.

    • retlaw

Rupert Murdoch’s an employer. If he gave her 3 mil, he expects to get it back with high ratings and advertising. This is called “creating wealth”, and the taxes on this wealth will feed the federal leviathan.

The Koch brothers advanced her 7 mil on GOING ROGUE? Sounds like a smart buisiness decision – that book was a best seller, and it’s still moving.

Where’s the conspiracy, dung-for-brains? If somebody gave you a seven-figure book contract, why not take it? How’s it unethical?

Now George Soros, he gives campaign donations in exchange for favors at our expense. Americans can’t drill in the Gulf, but American taxpayers have been made to subsidize Soros and his Brazilian partners drilling there. That’s corruption. And Soros’ backing of Media Matters, that’s not wealth creation, that’s naked political advocacy. And since Media Matters routinely violates its tax status, it’s probably illegal.

No worship Andrea just trying to stand up for good people who are trying
to make a difference in America, maybe not of your thinking, which you
have the right to your opinion, but not to the point of you trying to destroy
the persons character and especially when you don’t seem to be very
    knowledgeable of them.
