Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?

Dear President Obama,

You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next.  You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha.  After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way:

“One of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on,” you said.  “I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.”

And I totally agree your kids should be able to speak their minds and engage the culture.  I look forward to seeing what good things Malia and Sasha end up doing with their lives.

But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung.  Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family.  He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.”  (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)

If Maher talked about Malia and Sasha that way, you’d return his dirty money and the Secret Service would probably have to restrain you.  After all, I’ve always felt you understood my plight more than most because your mom was a teenager.  That’s why you stood up for me when you were campaigning against Sen. McCain and my mom — you said vicious attacks on me should be off limits.

Yet I wonder if the Presidency has changed you.  Now that you’re in office, it seems you’re only willing to defend certain women.  You’re only willing to take a moral stand when you know your liberal supporters will stand behind you.

What if you did something radical and wildly unpopular with your base and took a stand against the denigration of all women… even if they’re just single moms? Even if they’re Republicans?

I’m not expecting your SuperPAC to return the money.  You’re going to need every dime to hang on to your presidency.  I’m not even really expecting a call.  But would it be too much to expect a little consistency?  After all, you’re President of all Americans, not just the liberals.

Lala Acosta…you should be upset at your self. You sound uneducated, ghetto and utterly stupid! I feel sorry for your child having a mother like you! “Obama a great President”?? You are pathetic, if that is what you really believe!
Bristol…God Bless You for the stand you take against “things that are not right”. You are an amazing mommy and I truly hope one day you get into politics. You would have my vote! Keep up the great work!!

I don’t know why people have to be so rude and nasty to you. It breaks my heart to read some of these comments. I pray that God continues to strengthen you and help you grow. You DO MATTER and you are worth so much.

Great columns, Bristol. Keep up the good work. Our nation needs voices that speak intelligently and address issues squarely. I’m behind you and your Mom all the way.

Btw, I predicted the media assault on your Mom while watching her give her acceptance speech at the 2008 Convention. She said two things that average Americans wanted to hear, but that scared the devil out of politicos and media folk. She said she didn’t think a governor needed a personal jet plane to do his/her job, and she wasn’t going to go to Washington to curry favor with the media. The minute she said that, I knew she’d have every establishment politician out to crucify her for threatening their perks, as well as reporters who depend on their political contacts for their own prestige.

But, saying the media is biased is too kind a word. Bias connotes a preference for one viewpoint over another, and thus recognizes the existence of other viewpoints. The media is now out to quash and deny the valid existence of other viewpoints. In short, it has become the propaganda arm of the federal government. It has absolutely no regard for reporting the truth, but merely slants the news in ways that glorify Obama and vilify/denigrate anyone who expresses an opposing viewpoint. The media’s enemy is anyone and everyone who think for themselves. That’s why you and your Mom are so dangerous to them. And that’s why so many thinking Americans are behind you all the way.

God bless you and your Mom.

PS: To those who deride a belief in God, I have to ask them, do they believe that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights?

Well said, Bristol. It’s wrong for anyone to use a platform, by all appearances, for promotion. This is really about the denigration of women – and when it shows that it’s being used for political purposes and not for the sole morality of the matter, it shows the character flaws of the president, unfortunately. Thanks for the article.

Tell your mother, Sarah, that she MUST NOT support Hillary Clinton, because Hillary Clinton is EXTREMELY anti-gun, anti-2nd-Amendment.

I have an enormous amount of respect for you and your family. The way you conduct yourself in this world is truly commendable. I’m not that much younger than you, I’m 19, and it’s SO refreshing to see a strong, respectful, young republican in the spotlight that I can actually relate to. It’s truly a shame what your family has to go through, but remember, for every hater there are a hundred more supporters! Keep doing what you’re doing, the liberals hate it!
