Resisting the New iPhone 5

Today, as everyone knows, the new iPhones are hitting stores.  I love my 4s – doesn’t it feel like we just got these new body styles? Actually, I had to admit.  This is my second 4s.  My first one ended up in the bottom of a pool somewhere, so I had to replace it with a new one.

And they aren’t cheap!

So, are the new iPhone 5 models worth it?  Apparently, they are faster, have a larger screen, and are oh-so-much-cooler.

But still.

I’m not sure it’s worth the upgrade costs for a slightly larger screen.

Willow pre-ordered hers, so she’s already stood in line and gotten one.  Other than listening to her brag about her new set up, will I regret not getting an iPhone 5?

It’s very easy to get into the mindset of “newer is better.”  Today, I am resisting that urge, saving a little money, and ignoring Willow.

Who’s with me!?

I’m with you. I just got my first iPhone (4s) ever. And, I’m happy with that. I don’t need to spend hundreds for the newest model.

Im anti Apple. they are over rated, too expensive and promote an age where people are never satisfied with what they have now….alwasy “needing” more and better mentality.

I’m with you Bristol and so glad you posted this today. I LOVE all things Apple…. so the temptation is great… but reading your post is confirmation that it’s ok if I also save some money, ignore all the “Jones’” that I am trying to keep up with and be happy with what I have. For today, I am content.

Except in the event of catastrophic destruction of my 4S, I too am resisting the iPhone 5. That is, until I am eligible for an upgrade! However, I might finagle my hubby into letting me have his upgrade, which comes up sooner than mine. He likes his current iPhone, but since he’s not that into techie stuff, the new stuff doesn’t really impress him.

I don’t use Apple products right now. Windows and Android here. Still waiting for the right solution to be made, as there’s nothing on the market that fits my lifestyle. If Apple came up with one before Android, it’d probably be in my hands asap.

I’m resisting too! Until I’m eligible for an upgrade in November… :)

Newer isn’t automatically better, but in this case the iPhone 5 is clearly and compellingly better than the 4s. It’s not just the larger, higher resolution screen. The phone is thinner and lighter, but with a faster processor, faster graphics, and better and faster network abilities.
