What Keeps Me Going This Week: 1 Corinthians 10:13

When life is tough — or even when it’s not — I’ve found comfort in the Bible.  My favorite parts change from month to month, week to week, or even day to day.  Honestly, I should read it more than I do, because I’ve also found that life is better when I hang on to its promises and truth.

Here’s the verse that’s speaking to me right now, 1 Corinthians 10:13.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

God gives us the strength to never choose sin.  He always gives us a way out of every situation that is glorifying to Him.

This week, what verses give you strength?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

I love how you share your journey with God with us. We need each other to strengthen each other– “as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” –Proverbs 27:17.

My two daughters and I are reading “His Princess, Love Letters from Your King.” It’s a book written as though God were writing love letters to us—his precious daughters. (The Bible says we are “the apple of His eye”! –Deut 32:10).

Yesterday’s entry was about “My Princess, you don’t have to fit in.” And the accompanying Scripture is “Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” –Galatians 1:10, NIV.

This is so freeing–not only for my daughters, but for me, too! (Especially since they recently became teenagers.)

It sounds as if you have been born again. Wonderful! When did it happen? Do remember, dear Bristol, that He hleps us but never violates our will. That is, if a person is determined to sin, Jesus will not and cannot interfere. Even a beautiful Christian can go back. My prayer is that you never let that happen. You are a special and precious person.

This guy dedicated this touching video to all women who have been molested, raped, in bondage to the enemy, beaten, and abused.

I’m so glad you are trusting in God’s Word. It will always be your strength. God bless you, Bristol.
