We had an amazing transformation in the Biskie household today.
My sweet & generous friends Dave & Jessica Fick came over today to help us tackle our basement. Before I even asked, Jess told me they’d all ready considered it after reading my pity party.
(My) Dave & I started this morning at 8:30am doing laundry & just getting organized. They got here at 11am & I promise you we worked hard all day until about 9pm! I must have done 10 loads of laundry, Jess & I got two disaster areas rooms cleaned completely & among other things, the two Dave’s re-wired & installed two motion-detecting-heat-sensing lights off both sides of our sun porch in our backyard.
The transformation is kah-razy! It’s amazing what 4 warm bodies can accomplish in 10 hours. (I guess technically 5 warm bodies if you include the 6 pound baby in my belly weighing me down). Our work today kind of reminded of this:
I wish I could bombard with you pictures however, my husband said he’s far too ashamed of what we let our basement become for me to post the “before” shots & not only are my digital camera batteries dead but now that I’ve sat down I think I may be stuck here for the night. Aching joints, pelvis, belly, ankles, etc. cannot even begin to describe the peril!
Even without pictures, this is all you need to know: the basement guest bedroom is ready for nameless baby #2 & I to take night-time residence for at least 3 weeks.!
This brings me so much peace of mind you have no idea. Baby boy & I have a desk to sit at should I feel inspired to write or work at my laptop, we’ve got Tetris & orginal Nintendo. We have the pack’n’play set up, a rocking chair for nursing, a bed for sleeping with clean sheets & a T.V./D.V.D.
Heck, we’ve even got wipes, diapers, a changing pad & a brest friend ready to go! 🙂 What, youv’e never heard of a breast friend? Let’s just say once youv’e had a brest friend you never go back to a boppy. Can somebody say: lumbar support?!
So, why is the new babes & I sleeping down there? My gift to my husband & Ransom is allowing them to sleep through the night for 3 weeks (at least) & my gift to my new baby is to stay up all night, every night for around the clock breastfeeding sessions.
Kudos to Jess & Dave who served Dave & I beyond belief today & blessings to Kim & Alison who came to watch the kiddo’s.
Here here to amazing friends, room transformations & the peace of mind only nesting can bring when your 37 weeks preggo! 🙂
