For Immediate Release: LEXINGTON KY (September 20, 2013) –
Father Jim Father Jim Sichko will be signing advanced copies of his new book Among Friends: Stories from the Journey on Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m., at a private book reveal at the historic Carrick House.  A Public book signing will be held Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m., at St. Mark Catholic Church, 608 West Main Street, in Richmond, Kentucky.

Among Friends is a compilation of short stories and insightful lessons Father Jim experienced on his many travels as a clergyman and motivational speaker. His fascinating journey from getting kicked out of seminary to hosting celebrities, such as Dolly Parton, Harry Connick Jr., Martin Short, Bill Cosby and former First Lady Laura Bush, shines a light into the corners of the human heart, exposing our need for God and the love He alone can give us. You will laugh, cry, and be taken back by his honesty. In all, Fr. Jim shows us what it means to love God, love others and live life Among Friends.

“Over the years, when St. Mark Catholic Church hosted the eagerly anticipated An Evening Among Friends series of fundraisers, the celebrated performers shared many accounts of the important role their faith played in their lives,” Father Jim explained. “Sharing their journeys, along with my own, was fascinating and uplifting, and helped lead to this book.”

“We all experience the wonder of our journey through life’s lessons,” Fr. Jim said. “Co-author Chas Allen understands the power of redemption and the path toward salvation.” Chas authored Mr. Pink: The Inside Story of the Transylvania Book Heist, a biographical account detailing his involvement in the white collar crime – one of the FBI’s most significant art thefts in history.

Fr. Jim’s second co-author and editor is horror novelist Jonathan Ryan. His debut novel, 3 Gates of the Dead, has earned rave reviews from The Wolper Organization at Warner Bros. (Bates Motel) to a TIME Magazine reviewer. His writing credits are diverse and include media outlets from Christianity Today to popular horror site

“I believe this book will help many realize the power of the journey and how we all share much in common with those whose stories can teach us important lessons – now and into the future,” said Fr. Jim. “It is motivational and filled with many examples of how different paths lead us to a life of faith and joy.”
