by Tim Bayly from Bayly Blog – Denim For Pansies
Editor’s note: Tim Bayly’s thin, weak and easy to bruise masculinity is firmly on display in this piece on Nordstrom’s faux working man jeans. Why does he care what other men waste their money on? Why are those jeans threatening is masculinity? It’s almost like he’s secretly jealous he cannot have a pair in his closet. Why is he claiming that expensive jeans are just ‘Denim Pants For Pansies’?
“Heavily distressed medium-blue denim jeans in a comfortable straight-leg fit embody rugged, Americana workwear that’s seen some hard-working action with a crackled, caked-on muddy coating that shows you’re not afraid to get down and dirty.”
Mike Rowe says Nordstrom’s $450 jeans are “a costume for wealthy people who see work as ironic.”
By the way, give me two wishes and the first will be that I never again have to listen to a woman say anything is her “passion.” The second will be that I never again have to listen to a man say anything is “ironic.”
