Seasons of Grace Come to Patheos

….in the form of Kathy Schiffer’s newly landed blog:

It’s only been a week since I announced the launch of Thomas L. McDonald’s God and the Machine faith-and-tech blog, so you probably didn’t expect another so soon, but some may recall that I’d promised Kathy’s arrival not long ago, when she — along with Dwight Longenecker and Elizabeth Duffy spent a week guest blogging over here and Kathy was super-energetic. The only reason she didn’t start last week is because I got sick, so the delay fault is mine!

Kathy comes to us via an interesting route that includes having produced the Al Kresta show on WMUZ-FM in Detroit, and later the syndicated “Kresta In the Afternoon” on WDEO-AM in Ann Arbor; she has been a conference director for Legatus and currently does bang-up work with Guest House — all positions that require an ability to organize and communicate with charity and a bit of forthrightness and common sense; Kathy does this in spades. On top of all that, she is married to a deacon, which is a very busy thing to be, she’s raised three kids and oh, yeah…she’s been blogging since October of 2010, as her archives attest! Kathy is one of those incredible uber-organizer types who can bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan and never, never let you forget that we’re Catholics and something is expected of us! And you know what that means, don’t you?

It means, it’s gonna be lively over there, so bookmark her page and check her out.

Familiarity breeds contempt!! It is Father Longenecker. C’mon folks, once we start losing respect for titles such as Father, we are on the down hill slope.

That’s fantastic. I really enjoyed her writing and I did occaisionally check her blog, but it was out of sight, out of mind. Now I’ll have quick access to her blog. :)

Anchoress, FYI: Today I noticed a new phenomenon in the body of your text, as well as that of other Catholic bloggers and even the USCCB website: Certain words are highlighted and hyperlinked to random advertising through “Text Enhance.” Is it just my computer or are others experiencing the same thing?
