Dem Pollster Pat Caddell: MSM is Threatening Future of Country UPDATED

The decades-long incestuous relationship between the Democrat party and the mainstream media is birthing something monstrous. This brave Democrat dares to discuss it.

Pat Caddell speaks truth.

“First of all, we’ve had 9 days of lies…If a president of either party…had had a terrorist incident and gotten on an airplane [after remarks] and flown off to a fundraiser in Las Vegas, they would have been crucified…it should have been, should have been, the equivalent, for Barack Obama, of George Bush’s “flying over Katrina” moment. But nothing was said at all. Nothing will be said. [...] It is [unacceptable] to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know. [The MSM] has made themselves the enemy of the American people. It is a threat to the very future of the country; we’ve crossed a new and frightening line on the slippery slope, and it needs to be talked about.”

It needs to be talked about, but the press will still close ranks, and jeer at those who dare to question what they’re doing. I have no doubt we’ll see a systematic character assassination of Pat Caddell, beginning in 3…2…1…

It’s not new, but it’s like nothing I’ve seen in 40 years of watching the press.

You can watch the full speech here — it’s worth your time. NiceDeb has done some great transcribing.

P.S. Thanks for being part of the problem that got US here…..

[I've seen Caddell call out the Dems any time these past ten years, and if I have -- and I rarely watch television -- you must have. But way to show a little appreciation. -admin]

Sounds great coming from a democrat but may be too little too late.
I think we have already reached the tipping point. However let me say this: In all societies where any form of socialism governs the media is the first to get chip-chopped.
No form of Socialism can exist with freedom of the press. They, the media, construct their demise with their denials

I killed my television over 14 years ago.

I was sick and tired of the blatant propaganda being foisted off on US back THEN.

    Hope that helps….

[Stupidity got US into this mess. Why can't it get US out?]
P.S. So Caddell was a slow learner…..that doesn’t get US out of this particular mess.

Fellow U.S. taxpayers, we should pat ourselves on the back for funding the development of the Internet. It has allowed us to disintermediate the MSM, who seek to control our every thought.
In the mid 20th century, what Americans could have imagined that the MSM would betray their profession by lying to the American people instead of informing them? Other than the American Communist Party, that is.

at the very least the free propoganda should be counted as a campaign contribution

Of course the MSM is biased and Hollywood is dissolute. And Conservatives have been cursing the darkness for decades. But it’s a free country (sort of). Conservatives are free to start their own networks, make their own movies and slant the message any way they want. If the content resonates, the originators will thrive and make money. If it doesn’t, they won’t.

    So what’s stopping them…?

  • John Skookum

“Conservatives are free to start their own networks, make their own movies and slant the message any way they want. If the content resonates, the originators will thrive and make money. If it doesn’t, they won’t.”

Nothing, nothing at all. Hence the success of Fox, Drudge, etc. But I find it shocking the number of leftists who would like to yank Fox’s “license”, even though they’re on cable, of kick Rush off the radio. And remember what Hillary Clinton’s reaction to Drudge’s Lewinsky coverage was? Almost with her first breath she was calling for regulation to shut people like him up.

Folks, the Left is the enemy of humanity. Destroy them, starting with the news media. They are no longer fellow citizens. Spit in their faces, kick them out of your life, and work to drive them entirely out of polite society. Teach your children to hate collectivism like our ancestors taught them to hate the Devil.

Oh don’t worry. To save their credibility, the media will get really tough with Obama in his second term. They might even ask him a tough question once a month or two..or three. Oh heck, maybe once a year. When the country is in a smoldering ruins, and there is finally a republican President, they’ll blame him within the first 2 weeks of his administration.

  • vinny vidivici

Caddell has been pretty fearless in the past about criticizing Democrats. But good God I’m tired of the ‘Katrina Moment’ trope. Airspace and arteries around entire cities go on lockdown when a president visits under ideal circumstances. Whatever mistakes may have been made before, during and after Katrina, monopolizing limited access to a devastated city for half a day as a demonstration of concern or a photo op wasn’t one of them.

BTW, while I’m not a fan of the current president, I feel the same way about his (prudent) decisions not to drop in to interrupt operations following some of the disasters which have befallen area of the country during his tenure Given the media’s slavishness, it would have been too easy to turn them into ‘man-on-a-white-horse circuses.

The MSM has fully committed itself to the socialist takeover and hopes to be reborn as Pravda and Investia in the coming totalitarian state. They needn’t worry about competition from more objective and professional news sources, as these will soon be banned and their monopoly restored. It’s a desperate gamble that they undertake, but they also know that their fate is sealed if the news business continues as a competitive marketplace.

There will be some blowback against the media, although no one can predict what form it will take. It is unlikely to rise to the level which the media deserves, however.

I remember during the cold war when sell-out journalists, willing to do anything to gain ‘access’, would make a wispered offer to a Soviet or East German official: “You give me a story and I’ll give you one.” What followed was an ‘exclusive’ interview with said official, followed up by a scurrilous, anti-American screed by the same journalist. Also, we can’t forget how CNN failed to report on Sadam Hussian’s atrocities in order to ‘maintain access’. It’s amazing how they can still keep going downhill.

R-I-C-O. Billions in advertising revenue depends upon media complicity with the corporations we call RNC and DNC. A substantial amount of those revenues come either directly from or directly because of the RNC and the DNC. These corporations are in cahoots. The corporate insiders that collective operate the syndicate monopoly that has apparently taken hold may have arguably descended into what may become an active sedition against the people of the United States. This potential threat of an emerging sedition needs honest Congressional hearings to investigate.

Are the members and corporate businesses of professional media actively engaged in a form of Racketeering? Is their apparent hegemony of non-reportage and the refusal to report something that they do for money? Perhaps something they do to get even more money? Making fraudulent claims and knowingly false claims to a Consumer of a product or service is illegal in most states, yet the press commercially sells “professional news” that is either plagued with gross negligence, prospective fraud, deceptive practice or the calculated withholding of material fact in a way that would put any commercial retailer or car dealer out of business and behind bars.

Time to beat the RICO drum and demand Congress investigate the insider dealings, withholding of material fact, collusion, quid quo pro and subculture of fraud and orchestration that may lie beneath the unholy network of G-schools, J-schools, profiteering media, profiteering Journalists and profiteering political agents, consultants and their respective corporate entities.

    Krazykat sez “Hi!” to SteveM.

(Actually, as I recall, Krazykat was a fun, comic/cartoon character—not insane, or unpleasant, like “Taz”, the Tasmanian Devil, or Daffy Duck.)

SteveM can’t really refute John, so he resorts to insults instead—and pretty feeble ones, at that!

Krazykat sez Steve should go read the Anchoress’ post on civility.

The main stream media is leading itself to it’s own gallows. That point already was made. What astonishes me is that they don’t seem to realize it. I know most journalists are ignorant drones of the left, but you would think that some of them may have read a modern history book that demonstrates life in a communist dictatorship. That is where Obama will take us with the help of the press and with Romney’s help by not standing up and telling it like it is.

This situation makes me think that the ROC and the Dems are actually two side of the same coin and are actually working together to perpetrate the continued facade of a free America. America is anything but free. It’s going to get a lot worse and there will be a lot of death in the coming years. I cannot see some of America accepting this march to the gulag without a fight.

There is nothing wrong with a strong advocacy of fairness. In the case of the traditional media, there is everything wrong with the support of corruption when that corruption reinforces your side.

With an unbiased media, President Obama’s own behavior and choices condemn him.

Is it any wonder that some of us have very real fears about what BHO will do should he lose this election?

This particular story is very interesting. I think that the media is trying to remedy they problem, but too late of course. The mainstream media have always played this role whether Republican or Democratic administrations. I am very pleased that we are at the beginning stages of an alternative media approach with all of the opportunities now. The best way to defeat a mainstream media is to have an alternative media. Social media coupled with the speed of transmitting other sourses is a good beginning. I would never depend upon FOX, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS or public t.v. news anymore. I am in Canada so even I am impacted by the u.s. mainstreme media. I would like to be able to get to the bottom of this particular story though. It is not just Democrats by the way Republicans do the same as we all know.

  • Gloria Enoch, ofs

Maybe someone knows why the use of the word Terrorism, or the expression Terrorist Attack cannot be used at this time. This is vary baffling to me. I think it is at the root of this particular issue though. I don’t believe that the majority of U.S. citizens or other citizens care for this or want to be fooled about what is going on in the world.
