When Bibi Met Mitt… UPDATED

I don’t know what happened when Bibi met Mitt.

But a picture is worth a thousand words:

Eye contact, warmth, no sending of a representative in his place with a promise to “call” later, and no jeering like 14 year olds.

UPDATE: Obama’s UN Ambassador skipped Bibi’s speech

RELATED: MSM fully deserves this smackdown

That’s not fair Anchoress! As a Christian, you should even out the field and show picture of the long road ahead, where same-sex marriages is ok and any woman who wants to abort a fetus will have the right to do so with their body. Just watch the end justify the means!

“I’M” so shocked Anchoress that “i” am going to stop writing right NOW?

Yes, there’s genuine warmth, because Bibi & Mitt have been friends since 1976. They both worked at Boston Consulting Group and have remained friends since then.

  • SteveM

Of course. One war-monger to another…

  • skat

@SteveM, as opposed to Obama the King of Killing Innocents with Drones?

  • George

No, it’s one “kinetic military action” monger to another. We don’t have wars anymore. Ask Obama.

  • http://www.reardenmedals.com egoist

SteveM – you lost me man. I don’t see Obama in that picture? Nor Arafat.

Seriously though, Obama can hardly be the antithesis of a war-monger. He’s popping drones off to a lot of countries. I think that we’re in 3 more now than when he got is Peace Prize.

  • Steevo

SteveM, mindless parroting of 21st century hate.

  • SteveM

    Re: skat

Agree. Glen Greenwald, Christopher Hedges and Conor Friedersdorf represent the few on the Left that indict Obama for the war criminal that he is. The American Conservative is a miniscule bastion of Conservative anti-war rationality.

The exultation of the American War Machine and the death it delivers worldwide is normative in the current political landscape. Romney whispers in Bibi’s ear, and promises to destroy Iran…

Given the bravado of celebratory violence, Dorothy Day must be turning in her grave.

  • https://www.facebook.com/ritchietheriveter Ritchie The Riveter

More like one war-ENDER to another … as opposed to the nattering United Ninnies of moral equivalence between dictator and democrat when it comes to sovereign respect … and an Administration who believes freedom rises and falls with The Vote, when freedom requires more to secure it.

  • DaveMc

I think SteveM was referring to the infamous invasion of Connecticut by the Massachusetts National Guard in 2005.

  • SteveM

    BTW, Friedersdorf on Obama:

Romney promises to be an order of magnitude more ruthless…

  • elkh1

Wonder what happens to Iraq where the peace-mongers claimed their greatest achievement before they’re inaugurated. What happens to the Right War, the Just War in Afghanistan?

And the drones to evaporate inconvenient American citizens overseas, the huge increase in domestic surveillance. (http://www.aclu.org/blog/national-security-technology-and-liberty/new-justice-department-documents-show-huge-increase)

It’s hard to wage wars on two fronts: foreign and domestic. As long as the war is against American citizens, the Nobel Peace Prized is well earned.

  • BooMushroom

An order of magnitude, Steve? So he’ll have ten thousand US soldiers die in Afghanistan, assassinate ten US citizens, and get the USA involved in thirty new kinetic military actions?

  • BooMushroom

If any other country had to put up with what Israel does, they would have laid down and died, or rose up and destroyed their enemies. I think even Obama would declare war on Mexico if they fired missiles into Phoenix on a regular basis.

Netanyahu knows that Mitt will support him, as he should.

  • R Daneel

SteveM _ Please, please go back to Huffington Post with the rest of the degenerates. Where they celebrate the culture of death and hate.

Anchoress – This is a robot you may know under another name. Peace.

  • SteveM

You lost me Boo. American Power Elites now jockey in front of the electorate to be the most efficient Angel of Death. The MSM broadcasts and celebrates the “USA! USA!” cheers as both miscreants and innocents are slaughtered. (Let God sort them out.)

    Sorry, I’m afraid I don’t do body counts…

  • https://www.facebook.com/ritchietheriveter Ritchie The Riveter

SteveM, if you ever do start doing body counts, make sure you deduct all those targeted and/or used as defilade by America’s enemies, from our bill.

BTW, standing by and doing nothing is how you get “war without end”.

  • Liz

These two care about human life. I love the picture. Let it happen.

  • Milhouse

“Or as…” what? The post just trails off into

  • The Troll

SteveM said: “Romney promises to be an order of magnitude more ruthless…”

For the sake of Western Civilization, I certainly hope you are right.

  • http://jscafenette.com Manny

That is a great picture. Yes, I would say they are true friends, not some diplomatic acquaitences playing for the camera. I do hope they will meet in a few months as leaders of their respective nations.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

    SteveM. doesn’t do body counts.

Otherwise, he might have noticed what’s been happening in the Middle-East, with the Islamic war machine.

But the SteveM’s of this world never notice. And, anyway, those are the wrong sort of bodies—politically incorrect bodies. Hence, they do not, can not, exist.

The SteveM.’s of this world are blinded by their hate for America. For them, it’s always the 60′s, and the only war is Vietnam.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

Also, given their Marxism, the SteveM.’s of this world don’t like Jews, don’t like America for supporting Jews and find it appalling that Israel hasn’t just rolled over and given up the ghost yet.

  • dry valleys

Where have all these commentors come from? And I’m pleased for those two that they’re good pals, but Netanyahu doesn’t speak for everyone in Israel (or Jews outside Israel) any more than Obama speaks for every single American with all his utterances. That’s what happens under a democracy, isn’t it?

The strangest of people can work together. Who knew that Iran was a staunch friend of the dictatorship in Syria? And I do believe there are genuine friendships in politics, and personal connections. Sure enough you get people working with those they dislike or are indifferent to, but there can be warmth.

I’m fairly certain Obama won’t turn a hair over the likes of Steve M opposing him. Also whatever the ultimate result will be, I should imagine Jewish Americans will vote for Obama in a landslide like they did in 2008, and every other Democrat for decades before. Funny, that.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

It’s not funny at all, Valleys.

Obama doesn’t care for Israel, and he sees his Jewish supporters as, simply, a voting block, who will vote for him no matter what he does: get our ambassadr killed in Libya, snub Israel, Fast ‘n Furious, help the Moslem Brotherhood take power all over the Middle East. . . the list goes on. He’s teh won! He’s going to give us Hope ‘n Change, a chicken in every garage, and a car in every pot. His supporters, Jewish and gentile, have bought into his cult, and will vote for him no matter what.

That anybody would vote for the man at this point is baffling. That American Jews would do so—given his track record on Israel, and his support for the Moslem Brotherhood, is deeply saddening. There may well be warm, friendly relationships in the world of politics, but, somehow, these warm, friendly, caring feelings never seem to affect the way our leaders treat their constituents, who are expected to keep quiet, keep paying taxes and keep voting for those candidates the media supports.

(As for SteveM., he’s stuck back in the 60′s.)

  • Rhinestone Suderman

And Dorothy Day probably is turning over in her grave.

But not for the reasons SteveM. thinks.

  • Krazykat

    RE: SteveM .

Wow! And here I thought all the terminally naive Maoist/Che slobberers—useful idiots went the way of the Dinosaurs!

It would be darkly funny to see the expression on his face as the bullet from his Maoist overlords, entered the back of his skull, ala Winston Smith!

Stevie? You’ll be the first to go!

  • SteveM

Re: “It would be darkly funny to see the expression on his face as the bullet from his Maoist overlords, entered the back of his skull…”</em

    Krazykat – Obviously

You know psycho-pathology is no substitute for intelligence.

    Get well soon…

  • Finrod

The brutal truth that SteveM tries to ignore so hard is that twice as many American soldiers have died in Afghanistan under Obama than under Bush– in half the time.

  • dry valleys
  • Skay

Great picture of two intelligent men who understand the evil we are dealing with in the world–including here within our own country.

It is unbelievable that the American Jewish community would vote for Obama, given his obvious distain for them(except around election time). Ironically, the same can be said for Catholics in this country who will be voting for Obama also. It could not be any clearer how he feels about the true Catholic religion( as opposed to pro abortion, pro euthanasia Pelosi Catholicism), the Costitution AS WRITTEN and the freedom of religion and speech given to us by the First Ammendment

Obama has indicated to Putin that he will be much more “flexable” when he is re-elected. Apparently Putin agrees with the Soros/Obama ideas of making the US a much less powerful
country so he might like to see Obama re-elected. At least an article in the Moscow Times indicated that.

I wonder what would happen if we were being bombed on a daily basis in this country? Woujld we continue to apologize for being Americans? Or, would we show the world that Bullies and assasins don’t win….
