“Take off her binders! Take off her binders!”

While Leah Libresco finds something for feminists to admire in his remarks, Obama supporters have been trying desperately to find some way to take umbrage at Mitt Romney’s “binders” blurble and make it scandalous.

Now, it can finally be revealed: Mitt Romney was speaking in code — the Mormon candidate was trying to reach out to the Catholic vote in a most intimate (but terribly sexist and misogynistic) way; yes…it’s all about the underwear!

I forgot about this part of the movie. My daughter and I love this movie so much. If she becomes a nun, I think this movie may have planted the seed. I read somewhere that Hayley Mills was offered the role in Lolita, but she didn’t want to let Walt Disney down, so she chose this movie instead. I’m so glad she did!

The Obama campaign has given us “lady parts”, Big Bird, binders and class, gender and racial warfare. Has there ever been such a substance-free campaign?

Females have the same needs and priorities as men: jobs, economic growth, quality healthcare (without government interference) and freedom from government. The Obama campaign offends my intelligence with its focus on my genitals, reproductive capabilities and “binders”. I’m not stupid or easily lead and I don’t vote with my primary sexual characteristics.

There are serious issues. There are serious problems with Mitt Romney as a person & candidate. This binder business is nonsense, more distracting noise.

People seem to revel in the trivial.

  • LisaB

    “There are serious issues.”
Joe Biden thinks those issues are funny, laughable and mockable.

A frontal attack on the Catholic Church, Barack Obama’s HHS mandate is a clear and present danger to the First Amendment rights of all U.S. citizens. Obama’s handling and lack of handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack (with cover from his sycophant’s in the media) should cause grave concern to every American; Obama is unable to handle threats to our national security. Obama’s religous adherence to Planned Parenthood and his flippant regard for human life are unconscionable for someone who claims to be a Christian. The consequences of Obama’s policies in the ME are being played out before our eyes on the nightly news. The Obama economic policies are putting so many more people in poverty that it’s being to look planned. To say Obama’s policies from the ME, energy, the economy, etc are unraveling is being too kind; his policies are crashing and burning.

Mitt Romney may be flawed and imperfect like you and me, but both Romney and Ryan are intelligent, successful, good people. I’m sure the media will would hold them accountable if they start killing people with drones, gas prices go over $2 and unemployment goes over 5%.

Barack Obama is dangerous and knowing Joe Biden is a heartbeat away gives no comfort either.

Quite right. That’s why that second debate, while on the surface it appears to be a draw or even a slight Obama win, was actually a Romney win. All Obama had was ad hominem attacks. Romney laid out a clear indictment of the last four years and of Obama’s failures. Obama never rebutted that. It hangs as a white elephant. Why didn’t obama rebut it? Because he can’t. The indictment is true.

I don’t know what the issue of “binders” is all about but I do know that this year’s elections are for the birds, hmm! Democrats and Republicans are giving flight to their party’s platform while leaving us in the caveat that we need to vote for them because they have all the answers. With due respect to our current President and Vice-President, our first amendment is not something they talk about. With respect to Mr Romney and Mr Ryan, poverty is a fact of life for many. Is their vision in need of ‘night goggles’ when it comes to caring for the poor and the underprivileged or can they be clear on the issues that we are not all “middle America” or young or wealthy? With a bit of wisdom, I’ve come to realize that neither party has it all, that I stand up for values on both side of the issues. But I have to choose……..

  • Mary

It’s an easy choice for me. I’m voting Romney/Ryan. How could I not as a serious Catholic? Pres. Obama has the worst record on abortion ever and he even voted against the Infant Born Alive Protection Act. When Planned Parenthood gets my Federal tax dollars these are serious issues . As a result of the HHS Mandate the religious liberty of Catholic institutions is being challenged. This administration would like them to violate their conscience in order to not pay hefty fines. This is not how we do things in America. It’s time for Romney & Biden to go!

  • Mary

Whoops – it’s time for Obama & Biden to go!

  • David

Imagine the uproar if Romney used “notebooks” instead.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

Romney and Ryan aren’t perfect—who is? But, after Fast and Furious, and Benghazigate, I don’t know how anyone can justify giving Obama/Biden four more years.

(As for the poor—what has Obama actually done for them? Aside from saddling with with a horrific national debt, and creating more unemployment?)

Heck, Nixon stepped down after Watergate—and Watergate didn’t get anybody killed.

LisaB, yes, Biden sure seemed to think Libya, and unemployment, were hilarious, didn’t he? I thought he was going to fall off his seat cackling, when the subject of nuclear warfare came up—that’s a real kneeslapper, right, Joe?Can’t you just imagine him chuckling and grinning with, say, someone like Ahmadenijad? Or Putin? Is this really someone we want a heartbeat away from the presidency?

    Nixon stepped down after Watergate.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

Oh, and let’s not forget the attack on the First Amendment after Benghazigate, where the Obama administration attempted to blame the attack on a video, and even arrested the man allegedly behind it.

  • LisaB

Yep, Rhinestone, exactly. Who is perfect? The god-worshiping of Obama was the most troubling aspect of all these past four years. It’s very sad that American’s have lost their grounding in God. I prefer an imperfect, humble human as president. So far, Romney is not claiming to recede the seas. Plus, Biden most definitely made a mockery of the office of the Presidency. Joe Biden’s behavior in the VP debate was shameful and unAmerican.

Now, after the 2nd debate, Obama is pushing the meme “binders of women”… they’ll say anything to avoid the nightmare of the last 4 years. Who’s being trivial Steve??

The thought of what Obama might have planned for the next 4 years terrifies me. I don’t think he’ll be so generous & kind if he wins the next 4.

I LOVE this movie!!!! I wanted so badly to become a nun — or at least go to a Catholic all-girls school –when I saw it as a young’n. Caught it on netflix last year and watched the heck out of it for a month.

‘binders’ — I was thinking of men who ‘bind up’ women — some kinky stuff. I thought that was what the post-debate spin was going to be…

  • dnb03

    Now that’s funny.

  • Jokr39

That scene is exactly what I thought of when I heard his reference to binders! Too funny. Love that movie.

  • Rhinestone Suderman

LisaB, if, God forbid, Obama wins a second term, the gloves are, indeed, going to come off, and it will be a case of, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”

He will not show any mercy, this time around.
