When using crystals for love and understanding one should certainly try Selenite. It is a hardened form of gypsum, formed from salt deposits in ancient bodies of water. Therefore it is helpful in all watery spells and magickal workings.
Selenite is said to help with inner and outer transformations on all levels. For this reason one should do a chakra balancing and clearing before beginning work with this stone. Do this by using stones like Black tourmaline, and a chakra pendulum to aid in figuring out which areas may need work. Pass the pendulum over your chakra centers, paying great attention to the pendulums reaction. Clean and meditate on each chakra that seems to need work. This way you will be as clear as possible for the magickal work you want and need to perform.
