Mahabharata for the 21st Century

Mahabharata for the 21st Century May 16, 2014

A few weeks ago my parents went to meet a fellow named Sriram Raghavan, who is a storyteller traveling the world to bring the stories of the Mahabharata to the new generation. They listened to his presentation and bought me a copy of his book, Mahabharata for the 21st Century, complete with an audio CD of him narrating the story.

The book itself is darling. It’s got lots of pictures and is just 144 pages long, making it great for introducing the epic to children.

When I was a young child, my mother took a copy of a children’s Mahabharata from the library and read me bits of it. This book is perfect for doing just that with my own future children.

The CD is broken down into ten minute chapters for the whole family to listen to together.

I’m thrilled to add this book and CD to my baby hope chest!

Now I just wish I could remember which one it was I read as a kid! I may have to go back to our old library and try to find it.
