Return to Old Comment System

Sorry to have so many posts lately about just blog business! I decided that the World Table comment system is not a good fit for this blog, at least as it is currently. 

I know the team is working hard and they are only in alpha testing. I wanted to help but I’m finding that there’s still so much left to work on and in the mean time it is harming the community here as people have begun to struggle to comment and communicate.

I also feel that this blog does not struggle with trolling at all.

I know some bloggers define trolling as anyone who disagrees with them. Others as anyone who disagrees with them and isn’t polite about it. I think the truth is that real trolling is very rare. It’s when someone writes a comment designed only to hurt or enrage others with no real content or truth. (Example when someone told me I was too ugly to be raped, I considered that trolling and I blocked the person. Easy peasy). 

There are disagreements here and there are different points of view. I don’t want to do anything that has a chilling effect on people expressing their thoughts and opinions about what I present here. I may disagree but I will do my best to make sure you have a voice. I do ask that people not call each other names and try to stick to issues rather than personal attacks. 

I want to thank everyone for being on this journey with me. In the last few weeks there have been so few comments and I’ve really missed the connection and camaraderie. I hope bringing Disqus back will reinvigorate the community we are building.
