This week’s blog is jointly written by both me and my lead editor, Laurie Davies. She is one of the kindest people I know, even when—especially when—it is challenging. So, I wanted to include her insight this week.
It’s easy to be kind to nice people. Doesn’t take much effort. The other person reciprocates, and everyone feels warm inside.
But when we choose to be kind to difficult people, we enter territory that truly transforms us and, often, others. (For people of faith, such kindness also puts teeth into our commitment to place God’s ways above our own ways.)
Last week and this week, we’re offering specific ideas on how—and why—to be kind with difficult people. (If you missed last week’s post, we encourage you to go back and read it. Step 1 is foundational, and it might surprise you.)
Today, we’re offering steps 3 and 4 for approaching the difficult people in our lives.
