To all my anonymous readers who fear that I’m staggering around drunkenly, one of the most precious gifts the Catholic Church has given me is the knowledge that the proper appreciation and enjoyment of all the good things God has given us is not excessive, nor sinful, but is indeed exactly how we were meant to live.
I love that about Catholicism. We are charged to love life fully, and love everyone in this life just as fully. There’s no talk of those saved and those damned. Who are we to know? Who are we to judge? There’s just us, humans, beautiful and sinful and stupid and wonderful, loving each other because we were loved first.
