Okay, this is weird even for Glenn Beck. He’s suing Christopher Balfe, the former CEO of The Blaze and COO of its parent company, Mercury Recording Arts. But those companies are incorporated in Delaware and the laws there require that the company indemnify all corporate executives from actions undertaken on behalf of the company.
It has been widely reported that the Trump campaign spent no money on data mining or to build a mailing list during the primaries, so they’re still scrambling to get emails to send out fundraising messages. And now they’ve had to buy Glenn Beck’s mailing list. Beck, who despises Trump, is mocking him for it.
I’m always amazed at the total fantasy world that right-wingers live in, a world I’ve dubbed Planet Wingnuttia. But Glenn Beck’s corner of that planet is even weirder than the rest of it. In Glenn Beck’s corner of Planet Wingnuttia, Obama has brought America to the brink of Marxism.
I am so much enjoying watching Alex Jones and Glenn Beck, two peas in a paranoid, irrational pod if ever there were such a thing, attack each other. In the latest salvo, Jones calls Beck a “power-mad Satanist” with a “spirit of deception and true manifest evil.”
It almost seems anti-climactic to give a Bryan Fischer Award to Glenn Beck. The award, which is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness and self-contradiction, could just as easily be named after Beck himself. And this latest example is simply precious. He’s talking here about the jerk who accused Whole Foods of putting “fag” on a cake he ordered.
Glenn Beck welcomed far-right “scholar” Kenneth Timmerman on his radio show and made sure to let his audience know, several times, that Timmerman had been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, which he claims gives him credibility. No, actually, it doesn’t.
I have to say, I am enjoying immensely the ongoing feud between Alex Jones and Glenn Beck. Both of these buffoons are conspiracy nuts and frauds and they just love accusing one another of their own most obvious traits. In the latest salvo, Jones says Beck is “psychotic” and a “cult leader.”
Right Wing Watch has an excellent analysis of how Glenn Beck manages to claim that he made all these accurate predictions. It isn’t just by being vague, it’s also by changing the prediction over time. They look specifically at his prediction that there would be violence and riots at the Democratic National Convention.
Okay, you really should watch this. It’s a classic Glenn Beck rant, wherein he apologizes once again for whatever he did to divide people while also declaring that if you don’t vote for Ted Cruz, you’re voting for the destruction of America. Melodrama, weeping, screaming, hypocrisy — it’s all there.
Glenn Beck has been joining Ted Cruz on stops over the last few weeks, lending his particular form of weepy-eyed performance art to his presidential campaign. It’s the usual doomsday stuff — “This is your last call, America!” — accompanied by crying and wailing and generally carrying on.
Yes, I’m actually going to agree with Glenn Beck on something, which may well be the opening of the 7th seal and the start of Armageddon. While campaigning for Ted Cruz in South Carolina, Beck said that Donald Trump’s much-professed Christian faith is a load of bullshit. And he’s right, it is.
Glenn Beck has officially endorsed Ted Cruz for president and has declared him to be the “next George Washington” that he has been searching for lo these many years.
But as Simon Maloy points out at Salon, Beck seems to find the “next George Washington” quite regularly. He found two of them during the 2012 election alone. Unfortunately for him, the “next George Washington” keeps losing elections.
