GlennBeckGlenn Beck has a favorite new right-wing activist, introduced to him by none other than David Barton. Alice Patterson is from Texas and she’s affiliated with the self-declared prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation. She spoke at Rick Perry’s big prayer rally. Beck says he’s going to do a whole series of shows with her so everyone else can get a taste of her “wisdom.” Right Wing Watch highlights some of her bizarre views:

GlennBeckOn Saturday, Glenn Beck held his “unity rally” in Birmingham, Alabama, drawing an estimated 20,000 people. It featured Rafael Cruz giving a prayer about how we need to overcome our differences, destroying irony meters everywhere coming from a man who savages those he disagrees with as Satan-controlled communists. It also featured Beck in a bulletproof vest, showing just how strong his faith is. But it seems to have tuckered poor Glenn out:

GlennBeckIf Glenn Beck did not exist, I might have to invent him. Who else, save perhaps Donald Trump and Larry Klayman, manages to be so thoroughly ridiculous, self-aggrandizing and endlessly amusing than Beck? His wild pendulum swings between gloom and hope, his self-declared daily communications with God, his constant claims of having been right about everything…he’s just the total package. And now he’s working with David Barton to deploy “unity teams” to diffuse situations like the unrest in Ferguson.

GlennBeckGlenn Beck is trying to get everyone excited for his latest rally, this one in Birmingham, Alabama, to save the world from…well, from something. He put on a webinar with David Barton and others to encourage ministers to come and to bring their flock with them. Amusingly, he declared himself a “secular broadcaster” but says he’s “almost all God now because we’re out of time.” God is drawing a line in the sand, you see, and Beck must be the prophet who warns everyone.

GlennBeckGlenn Beck has done a huge service to many large cities in the United States by putting out a list of the 15 cities his followers should avoid. In fact, those cities should now start a joint advertising campaign to boost tourism based upon the fact that neither Glenn Beck nor his fans are likely to be found in those cities. Here they are, in order:

Glenn Beck is prepping for his next rally to save the world, this time absurdly trying to coopt the mantle of the civil rights movement by holding it in Birmingham, Alabama. Now he’s claiming that the rally will fulfill a prophecy and bring on the Third Great Awakening.

We all know that Glenn Beck just loves David Barton. He has him on his show constantly and lavishes him with praise. Given their mutual penchant for lying, that seems predictable enough. But Beck has now done what no university has ever done, bestowed Barton with a PhD.

Even though the Bible itself says that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrow was in failing to provide hospitality, the Christian right continually invokes it as supporting their anti-gay bigotry. But Glenn Beck offered a really weird, warped reading of the story in comparing it to the modern gay rights movement.

Right Wing Watch notes that Glenn Beck is repeating himself. In 2012, he predicted a landslide win for Romney but said that if Obama won it could only mean that Americans were “so dead inside … that they can no longer see the difference between good and evil, [and so] we have to be destroyed because we will be a remarkable evil on this planet.”

I’ve noted many times how Glenn Beck careens between declaring that he’s going to change the world because he’s on a mission from God to lamenting the fact that his paranoid delusions are inevitable and he is powerless to stop them. He went on the latter rant on Friday, saying it’s all a conspiracy and the government is going to kill him in his sleep:

This week was the running of the Boston Marathon, the two year anniversary of the horrific terrorist bombing at the finish line. But as Right Wing Watch points out, it’s also the two year anniversary of Glenn Beck trying to blame a completely innocent Saudi student for being the “money man” behind the bombing. Here he is telling the government that they had 3 days to come clean or he was going to reveal the truth. The feigned macho bluster is hilarious:

Glenn Beck put a highly amusing post on his Facebook page wondering if he’s wasted his life (yes) and if he should stop talking (yes). And he wonders if he’s really doing what God wants him to be doing:

Sometimes after a hard days work like today, I come home and wonder if I am doing what He wants me to do.
