Politico has a list of the 20 worst political predictions of the year and — surprise, surprise — Fox News hosts and guests and other assorted wingnuts are responsible for a whole bunch of them, including two of the top three. Several of them involved predictions that Mueller’s investigation would end and find nothing was done wrong by anyone.
Sean Hannity’s show is losing advertisers quickly and he is freaking out over it. When Angelo Carusone of Media Matters for America, went on CNN to talk about a boycott urging advertisers to stop buying ads on his show, Hannity fired up his hypocritical outrage machine on Twitter:
The trial for wingnut rancher and deadbeat Cliven Bundy started this week, so it’s time to meet his crackerjack legal team. It starts with our old friend Larry Klayman, the dumbest lawyer in America not named Mat Staver. But he’s not actually allowed in court to do anything because the judge refuses to admit him until he clears up his latest round of bar association sanctions in Washington, DC.
Max Boot, a well-known and well-respected conservative foreign policy analyst and author, wrote this a couple months ago but I didn’t see it until recently. In it, he absolutely lambastes Fox News, especially Sean Hannity, for pushing the Seth Rich murder conspiracy.
It’s only a trickle at this point, but at least a few advertisers have already responded to public pressure and have pulled their ads from Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News. Only time will tell how far it goes and if it’s enough to get him off the air, as it did for Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly.
[Update]: This was obviously written and scheduled to go up before the announcement from Fox that O’Reilly is indeed being let go.] The Wall Street Journal, which is owned by the Murdochs, the same people who own Fox News, is reporting that Fox is “preparing to cut ties” with Bill O’Reilly over more than a decade’s worth of sexual harassment claims for which they’ve paid out millions in settlements.
Wow, that New York Times article may actually succeed in killing off Bill O’Reilly’s career. More than 50 advertisers have now abandoned the show. It’s gotten so bad that they ran only seven ads during his Thursday show, which was then inexplicably cut short.
In the wake of a New York Times story about Fox News having paid out $13 million in sexual harassment lawsuits against Bill O’Reilly, a growing list of major advertisers have pulled their ads from his nightly show. Fox News issued a tight-lipped, empty statement in response.
B-team Ann Coulter wannabe Tomi Lahren has been suspended by The Blaze, Glenn Beck’s radio and TV network, because she committed the one unforgivable sin for the Christian right: Being pro-choice on abortion.
Louis Gohmert, the dumbest man in Congress, told Glenn Beck that he’s just thrilled to have Donald Trump in the White House because if Hillary Clinton had been elected, he would have been “in jail within four years.” Because that’s a totally reasonable thing to say.
From time to time you’ll see references or interviews, usually in the right-wing media, to the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). It sounds legit, right? It’s not.
