As is often the case with big-budget Bible movies, there are two marketing campaigns, running in parallel, for the upcoming remake of Ben-Hur.
On the one hand, there is the campaign aimed at the “faith-based” audience, which emphasizes the role that Jesus plays within this film. And then there is the campaign for the general audience, which focuses more on pure action and spectacle.
The latest example of the latter approach comes courtesy of Entertainment Tonight, which devoted a segment to this film’s take on the story’s classic chariot race:
Entertainment Tonight ran another segment two weeks ago on Ben-Hur producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, but it had no new footage from the film:
The film comes out August 19 in North America and rolls out earlier overseas.
