So, you like behind-the-scenes special features? Well, here are some you might find interesting…
A lot of folks are drawn to the mysterious and magical world of movies… How they’re made… How illusions are created… What stars are really like… The intrigues of the biz…
There is something cool about that, though for me the mystical attraction diminishes with every turn and corridor I navigate through the maze of the entertainment machine, which chews people up and spits them out. (Though strangely, they often seem to be willing!) William Goldman famously wrote about the film industry: “Nobody knows anything.”
HOWEVER…
Thanks to all kinds of advents in production technology and distribution opportunities, the wild wild west of INDIE film offers nutty artists a chance to grab the reins, though it can still be pretty painful.
SO, in case you were wondering how some broke filmmakers made a ludicrously ambitious sci-fi film, won a bunch of awards, and got it into worldwide distribution, I cooked up these somewhat funny and nutty “making of” clips about my flick, 95ers.
Sci-fi fans, aspiring writers/artists/filmmakers, as well as curious extraterrestrials and time travelers all over the world have been following this adventure. I hope you enjoy it. And thanks again and again to all those who supported us!
Episode #1 is a fun overview with life-saving tips and inspiration for filmmakers and creators of all kinds. Episode #2 breaks down some of the zillions of visual effects in the movie, which computery stuff as well as traditional models and miniatures! Episode #3 is a fun look at indie distribution.
