It’s “launch week” for my brand new book The Grace of Yes: Eight Virtues for Generous Living. To celebrate, we are paying tribute to seven very special examples of “The Grace of Yes in Action”, the seven winners for our “Name the Goldfish” contest. Our amazing Catholic School, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin School has been providing a tuition free Catholic education for many years. Our parish generously gives of their time, talent, and treasure to keep “The Miracle on Greenridge Drive” alive. If chosen, I would like to give the money to Father John Haney to be used for the many needs of our school.

I join Heather in believing that our Catholic schools in many ways lead the pack in living a full and generous “Yes, God!” attitude. Along with providing a great education for students, many of whom attend school on scholarship, great Catholic schools provide fundamental lessons in faith and generosity that last a lifetime.

St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin School is the only tuition-free Catholic school in Pennsylvania, and one of only a few in the entire country. I was surprised by a newspaper article I found online that indicated that as many of 75% of the school’s students would not be able to attend St. Gabriel if tuition was charged. Clearly though, offering a great education free of charge can be a challenge, so it’s clear to me that the school needs our support and prayers.
