No Longer Quivering

Editor’s note: Interesting that incest, pornography and perversions seem to occur much more frequently inside of the Quiverfull churches than anywhere outside of a town red light district. Why is it that Bayly, Doug Wilson, Steven Anderson and Kevin Swanson along with assorted others seem to be so focused on sexual sins that very few outside of their realms have even heard of, much less practiced? It’s scary and telling. Out of the mouth comes the abundance of the heart.
There’s a horrifying assertion unquoted earlier in this bit about not allowing fathers and daughters to shower together. Is this even a thing anywhere? Even during my years in Quiverfull Evangelical Christianity I never heard anyone talk of showering with the father or daughter. We’re learning way too much about these guys inner sexual fantasy lives and it’s seriously TMI!
Your son should never use his computer anywhere but in the common places where you are passing by, and his screen must always be facing the center of the room—never the wall. At home, because its screen is too small for you to see, your son should leave his smartphone in his pocket. And you should know if he sins by looking at naked flesh on it because, if he does, you must take his smartphone from him. This is basic Christianity.
Now you might not like the vehemence and directness of my statements, but I mean to shock you out of your complacency. Incest is everywhere in the Reformed church—and this particularly within large families. Surprised?
You shouldn’t be. The pastors of our church spend much of our lives working with young men and women of Covenant homes who have committed gross sexual perversions with one another, and this while their parents were proud of their use of a classical curriculum and their understanding of Covenant succession. Trouble is, they’d never had a pastor, elder, or older Titus 2 woman command them to guard the smartphone, computer, and TV screens of their children, husband, or wife.
Here’s an idea: if your sons and daughters are viewing naked flesh unhindered in the family room and bedroom, every other body in your home becomes the object of his or her lust, and it’s just a matter of time before you are weeping uncontrollably.
