One of the Pearls regular readers is asking about the seeming contradiction in some of Michael Pearlβs writing on the authority of women to teach.
For well over a year weβve been running a second Answering βPreparing To Be A Help Meetβ on Sundays, filled with questions by young ladies trying to get ready for marriage. Since weβve run through many of the questions on their site itβs time to shift Sundays to something else, like perhaps examining the cornucopia of probably fake emails and questions that Michael and Debi Pearl of No Greater Joy post on their website and the possibly poisonous answers they give.
Original Question and Answer Here β To Teach or Not to Teach?
Dear Debi,
We have read your thoughts on the woman never being the spiritual leader in her home (not leading the kids in Bible studies, etc., even if Dad doesnβt do it), but in one of your books or tapes, Michael suggested moms lead a neighborhood childrenβs Bible group and said Debi had done that for years, using Child Evangelism Fellowshipβs materials. Could you please clear up how these two concepts do not contradict each other?
Even if Debi was asked the question Michael replied. Snipping out a long long long block of text boils down to that the Pearls constantly told the kids Bible stories.
Β
So, back to your original question, did Deb have devotions with our children? No. Did she tell and retell Bible stories as they home-schooled, washed dishes, swept the floors, sewed, cooked, canned, snapped beans, hoed the garden, swam in the creek, or walked down the lane? YES
