There are few guys that toss the word salad quite like Moscow, Idaho pastor and author Douglas Wilson of Blog and Mablog. Somehow he’s linking the ideas of later marriage and impotency in society with the widespread usage of pornography. This is particularly interesting when you view the statistics on who and where the highest rates of porn consumption occur. Wanna hazard a guess? Bueller, Bueller, anyone?

PornHub has reported that the highest rates of pornography consumption occur in the most conservative and religious communities. Guys like Josh Duggar and his ilk. Likely most of the dudes Doug knows too. Somehow he thinks this is all about dudes not being male enough too. Huh? That I do not get. Is Doug claiming that only effeminate men look at pornography?

Pied, huh? Sounds more like an addiction to pies than anything else. Is any of this much of a problem outside of the twisted world of Quiverfull Evangelicalism? I don’t think so, at least not to this depth.

Undoubtably porn does cause problems for some people, but I seriously doubt those problems include impotence, late marriage or being less masculine.

FYI – When NLQ fails to update, like yesterday morning, it’s because of something happening like a loss of electricity or internet. I’ll try to keep to a daily schedule, but there will be the occasional thing happening beyond my control. We were without power for a few days while the local electric co-op came out and replaced the two ancient meters on the property. Sadly things do not happen in the most timely fashion in Costa Rica. Tico time is a real thing, but I’ll try to make sure it does not impact NLQ as much. Sorry about that.
