In Praise of John Allen Chau?

In Praise of John Allen Chau?

Can you guess which of our regular gang of word salad workers for Jesus is praising recently deceased missionary John Allen Chau that may have brought extinction to the Sentinelese people just by showing up? That would be one Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog, oblivious as usual about all things outside of his bubble.

Doug kindly takes time from his busy schedule of posting snippets of his own books, and hurtling flaming word salad bits at all things outside of his ken, like anything that does not involve man on top get it over with quick straight sex. He’s now decided to do a β€œpositive” post on American Exceptionalism.

His reasons for thinking Americans are exceptional are problematic at best. Doug brags on many things he thinks we are, but I couldn’t get past his words about generosity. He thinks because some churches send out missionaries we’re the most generous of all. Leading to this, his praise for wrong-headed tragically criminal John Allen Chau.

The island will be secured for Christ because Chau’s blood was shed?? That’s not at all what’s going to go down regardless of Doug Wilson’s fetid fantasies. The island is off-limits to everyone but the residents, and for good reason.

The Sentinelese have been contacted and exploited in the past, back in the late 1800s, and have made it abundantly clear they do not wish contact with the outside world. Which is their right.

Most people can see that what Chau did was foolish in the extreme, criminal even, not something to be emulated or admired.

But for Doug Wilson he thinks that going among strangers, to ignore their society and customs, to pester them with his religion takes priority over everything else.

Add colonialism to the longΒ  list of objectionable attributes that Doug Wilson exemplifies.
