Did Jesus Use a Pen Name?

Did Jesus Use a Pen Name? 2019-06-30T15:44:25-04:00

Part of Larry Solomon’s self justification for appearing as a nasty troll under a bridge instead of being a man and posting in his real name.

One thing I have learned in my ten plus years adminning No Longer Quivering is that if you really want to have you andΒ  your words taken seriously you must abandon pseudonyms. Cowards use fake names to hide their trollish ways.

Not brave enough to take the heat for what you’ve said? Perhaps you shouldn’t actually say that thing, you should tuck it back into your brain and ponder why most of the population would find it repugnant.

The scripture Larry cites has nothing to do with appearing under a different name. Jesus didn’t put on a Godzilla disguise or throw a woman’s veil over his head to trot away from the Pharisees. He simply walked out as himself, not making a big deal or acting like that clanging cymbal mentioned in scripture.

One of the things I appreciate about Jesus is that he put on no airs, or never tried to be someone else. He was absolutely authentically himself 100% of time. Unlike many self-described Christians.

Earlier today I heard a very lengthy quite awful sermon in which a Costa Rican pastor rattled on and on that no one much comes to Jesus because of selfishness. I wanted to jump up and say no, fewer people are coming to Jesus because of the sheer misleading awfulness of many of the loudest self-professing Christians. Christianity is not all about being exclusionary and awful to others!

And hold on to your biscuits, but I am about to complement Lori Alexander and others, like Vaughn Ohlman and Tim Bayley. At least they use their real names with their genuine words. They don’t hide. They don’t pretend. They aren’t hidden trolls under the bridge. I can respect that, even if I dislike much of what they say. They aren’t cowards.

Speaking of which, someone has hacked Lori Alexander’s Transformed Wife Facebook page and posted a pile of porn. The porn is gone, but that same wag changed her page description to β€œTattoo & Piercing Shop” Funny, but so not right. Hacking is not the answer. As irritating as Lori’s shrewish words can be as least she uses her real name.

The main message of Jesus is not to enable cowardly weak men into behaving badly. If anything it is just the opposite. The Jesus Larry followsΒ  has more in common with the Anti Christ.
