Doug Wilson Will Never be “Cool”? October 9, 2019

We are continuing on in our examination of Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog’s thoughts on rebellion. Which is better than examining his hideous marriage lectures invoking locks and keys. Ugh! Locks and key! He’s gone there before. Which is silly because many keys might fit one lock but a single key only fits one lock.Β  Now he’s complaining about the rebellious nature of coolness, or hipness, whatever trendy word you want to use. One thing is for sure, Doug Willson will never be β€œcool” and you can tell just how much that cheeses him off.

One of our astute readers suggested in the comments that it’s very possible we are witnessing some sort of age-related cognitive decline here. I’d say it’s very likely as his pieces get more confusing, convoluted and nonsensical. His series on rebellion is starting to seem like something Abe Simpson would be shouting at the wind on β€œThe Simpsons”

Screencap from Fox’s β€˜The Simpsons’

Sorry, could not resist. Love β€˜The Simpsons,’ even Abe’s rants about how onions used to cost a nickel. Lot of wisdom there, even if it comes out sideways sometimes. It’s better than Doug’s advice.

So here we are, Doug’s crazy pondering on being β€˜cool’

I see one big glaring typo in Doug’s published whining that he’s not cool and would never be considered cool so cool must be evil.

Here’s some Grampa Simpson-like advice I have given most the teenagers I’ve worked with in some capacity. Cool is overrated, and no one remembers it in the long run. It’s just easier, better and simpler to just always be yourself.

Here’s the other thing Doug misses about β€˜cool’ When you are out living your life, raising kids, working, cooking or whatever it is you do day to day cool really ceases to matter.

Doug’s fomenting over something that isn’t even a real problem.
