The Recover & Rebuild Sigil (Tour Series Part 1)

The Recover & Rebuild Sigil (Tour Series Part 1) October 22, 2024

Anyone with a brain cell can tell that the highly unusual weather patterns and tremendous storms the planet is experiencing is the direct and very real result of climate change. It’s not “just the weather” but the direct effect of humanity’s impact on our environment. If the patterns don’t change and soon, more and more folks are going to be experiencing the terrible effects firsthand. Spawned by one such example, the Recover & Rebuild Sigil is the first of a series I’m sharing with you to help those impacted by tragedy.

The Recover and Rebuild Sigil is designed to aid folks recovering from natural (and manmade) disasters – and to assist those seeking to help them.

How the Sigils Came To Be

From September 26th to October 7th I did a short tour of the mid-Atlantic region – stopping in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. I taught a total of 8 workshops – 5 of them my “Art of Sigil Witchery” class, which resulted in 5 new shared magic sigils being created.

This tour also coincided with Hurricane Helene making landful and causing devastation in its wake. We were initially scheduled to stop at Raven & Crone in Asheville, NC on Monday September 30th.  But by Friday evening, it was becoming pretty obvious with all of the terrible flooding that the tour stop would be highly unlikely – and by Saturday, those chances slipped into the realm of impossible. Huge traffic signs on the major highways heading to NC warned of closed roads and no one but emergency vehicles would be allowed through.

Saturday evening I put a call out for ideas on where we should pivot to, as our initial plan was to drive halfway to Asheville on Sunday evening after teaching a workshop at Pyramid in Waynesboro, VA. Amazingly, the lovely folks at SereniTea Emporium in Concord, NC answered the call. In barely 24 hours, they managed to pull together a great crowd of folks for not only a workshop, but to also collect donations for relief efforts in Western North Carolina. Hats off to them for pulling it off and being so welcoming and wonderful!

This sigil would be the first of three sigils created with Hurricane Helene victims in mind (and obviously applicable to other folks facing similar situations as well). I will share the other two shortly.

What is Included in the Sigil?

  • open roads/travel (for supplies, aid, and people to get through going both ways)
  • clean water
  • resources
  • communication (cell towers and internet were down)
  • safe homes/refuge
  • money
  • power
  • history/acknowledgement
