You all may remember that I revamped my diet on the advice of the book WomanCode by Alissa Vitti. To help heal my PCOS, which is causing infertility, I cut out simple carbs and cut down on sugars. I’m still doing it, four months later, keeping both a low-carb AND mostly vegan diet. It can be done!

So is it working?

Yes, it definitely is!

It’s astounding to see how much of an effect diet really does have on your body. This shouldn’t surprise me but it still does. I think of healthy diet as having a subtle behind the scenes effect on your health that you don’t really see. But this change has produced staggering measurable results.

The symptoms of my PCOS are gone. Completely gone! Within two weeks of starting this diet my symptoms began to go away and now I am symptom free. My body is functioning like a normal fertile woman’s.

Last cycle we had what looks like a chemical pregnancy, meaning that we got a fertilized egg but it had problems and didn’t stick. But that’s a super good sign that we’re close to having a normal pregnancy. This diet should also prevent me from developing gestational diabetes while pregnant, something I’m at high risk for.

I don’t know that this diet is correct for you but it definitely is for me. It has healed my hormonal imbalances and is all around much easier on my body than the standard American diet of simple carbs, sugar, and fats.
