Day 81 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga and I entered practice today with a little humility.  During this process of practice I have been taking it one day at time.  If I think of the number of days, it throws me off.  So it has been quite humbling to practice everyday and the challenge  off my mat has been balancing my life with a practice everyday, but I have done it. I have done it... Read more

Day 80 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga and I felt very relaxed and deep in breath.  The breath is the leader of the practice. Great leaders lead quietly and listen alertly.  Which is what we can say about our breath.  It leads quietly. Today teacher Grant led us through a practice that was about the breath and stillness. Between some of the poses we acknowledged the stillness and then moved on. This really allowed us... Read more

Day 79 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at MODO YOGA and as I entered the studio I met two groovy Vancouver Mokshie’s Julia and Eric.  Welcome to LA! I am well supported and loved on this journey and I accept and receive it... Read more

Day 78 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at MODO YOGA and again I found myself waking up early for the 6 am practice, this time with teacher Carolina.  Carolina offered us the idea of just being here. We opened practice with sitting meditation and then went into Modo practice.  It is great to shake it up. I loved having time to sit and sit in stillness before practice.  From there we set our intention. For some reason the intention... Read more

Day 77 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga and I am reminded today at 6 am practice that everyday we are offered another day to live on this planet.  At night when we close our eyes, that could be it. So when you wake up, it is easy to jump into habits that protect us from experiencing life in a new way.  So as I walked to practice I embraced the breath, and thanked the divine... Read more

Day 76 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo yoga with teacher Carolina. My first book I ever wrote was never published it was entitled “Mary and Me”, it was my dialogue with Mother Mary. I remember a section in the book where Mary said, “David let the practice  be to contemplate your breath.”  That terrified me because I had an active thinking mind and thought how could focusing on your breath solely help, what about prayer and... Read more

Day 75 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga and I found myself in Grants class.  Grant brought up as practice started to follow the breath and allow the movement. No matter how you cut it, the simpler things appear, the harder we make them.  Another thing Grant brought up was to simply notice the sensations, the body in the practice.  Over the past 75 days the same mantra has come forward, breathe, allow, and observe.  Or... Read more

Day 74 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga and I walked in and took a class right away.  It was a straight Modo class that lasted 75 minutes.  Our teacher was Grant and the class really focused on the breath and breathing into the pose.  What a great reminder on a Sunday and the first day of fall. Fall is a wonderful reminder to go within and contemplate.  We have created a world story where defense... Read more

Day 73 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo Yoga  and I entered the studio awaiting a special class today in honor and the celebration of peace. Today is International Day of Peace. The class was a Yin class on Peace, facilitated by our teacher Emily B, and in the class she read poems, quotes, and we chanted OM, and listened to music all with the intention of bringing peace inside. Sometimes on my mat, in practice, an... Read more

Day 72 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Modo yoga and today entering class I was  feeling weighed down.  Not by anything really, just the day itself.  So I laid on my mat and focused on the breath, allowing the day to fall away, and as practice began, what I felt had fallen away, did not.  My practice felt like work, the body felt heavy, and the legs were wobbly.  So through my practice of acceptance, I accepted... Read more
