Remembering ancestors is an important practice in many Pagan traditions, especially during autumn, the dying time of the year. For many Pagans, the festival of Samhain on or around October 31 is focused on remembering the dead. Pagans often honor their beloved dead, friends and family who have passed; ancestors of blood, from whom they are descended; ancestors of spirit, mentors or historical figures whom they feel an affinity with; and ancestors of place, those who previously inhabited the land where they live.
This year, Patheos Pagan writers have teamed up with Patheos writers from other channels to create and explore personal ancestor remembrance practices.
