Jesus Loves Trig, This I Know

Vacation Bible School: sweet songs, store bought cookies, juice, and Trig.

Here’s a sweet photo of him on his first day of VBS!

How many of you are taking part in this old tradition this summer?

My favorite song, of course, was Jesus Loves Me.

What were some of your favorite songs you used to sing during those week-long bible studies?

Awww, how sweet! It brings back so many memories of bible schools and youth events from when I was a kid.

Bristol…..A very dear friend of mine was raised outside of the Protestant Church her entire life. When she was a young teen she babysat some little children who had learned that song in VBS. As an adult (middle aged) she still heard the words “Jesus Loves Me” in her memory and went in search of Him. She is now saved and lives a life close to the Lord, is active in church and understands fully the words that spoke to her as a little girl.
You just never know what will start the hunger.
    God Bless

Today at McCordsvilleUMC is the last day of “Operation Overboard.” I have been the mission leader talking about “Water for Life” project, and played many biblical characters during story time. Knowing that kids are sponges and soak up everything we say and do, I am honored each year to help them soak up some really good stuff for a week straight. Have fun Trig!

When I saw ”you know it’s summer” I knew you was talking about Vacation Bible School!! Loved it, went every summer. Started teaching when I was in high school and many years after that. My kids went every summer too. We always started out the day with ” Onward Christian Soldiers”. Whenever I hear that song it takes me back to VBS. I hope Trig had a good time, he looks like he is!!

My favorite song, from when my kids were little and went to VBS was and is “Blind Man Sits on the Side of the Road.”

I have come to realize that “Jesus Loves Me” is the most profound and theological song we can teach our kids and know ourselves. I grew up with this song and now i sing it to my 4 kids. It was easy singing it as a kid and now it has a whole new meaning. It simply is stated, ” Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so…” not because things always go great, or God always answers prayers the way I think, or because I have goose bumps when I sing worship songs. Some days as a mom of four kids and one with special needs all I can hold on to is He LOVES me because His Word says it is so. Great song Bristol! We are cheering you on in life here in Vegas!!!
