This guy is a true patriot – and a pretty good artist!

Roger Pugh makes a snow sculpture every year in his yard in Ohio, but this winter it was even more impressive than usual. He made a giant eagle out of snow, guarding the boots, gun, and helmet of a fallen soldier. He even painted an American flag on the snow-eagle.

The whole thing is 14 feet tall and even wider across. Roger worked on it in the evenings after work. He said, “It’s a tribute to our fallen soldiers, the ones that covered my back and taking care of my butt for a lot of years. If it can put a smile on somebody’s face, or make them think about our soldiers, hey, mission accomplished.”

Since a picture of his sculpture has been shared on the local news station’s Facebook page over 160,000 times, I’d say he’s accomplished his mission!
