Sweet Tweets for 6/14/14 — World Cup & Father’s Day

Are you caught up in the World Cup mania yet? I’m sort of warming up to it thanks to the excitement of our son Eric, who is a new college graduate with lots of international friends. I have yet to choose a favorite team, but I’ve been watching Pope Francis for clues.

In other news, tomorrow here in the US we celebrate fathers. I’m blessed to have some very amazing dads in my life, including my own, my father-in-law, of course my amazing husband and my brothers/brothers-in-law. We’ll also be sending up prayers of thanksgiving for our Holy Father and all of our priests, deacons and seminarians. Finally, let’s remember all of those who are “spiritual fathers” — they are men who may never have had children of their own, but who definitely give of themselves to be loving mentors and advocates for many. May all of these men feel our boundless love and appreciation as we pause to ask God’s blessings upon them tomorrow.
