Adrian Warnock is a medical doctor who spent his medical career working in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) as a psychiatrist for eight years
from 1995 to 2003, where he gained expertise in mental health. After this he spent fifteen years in the pharmaceutical industry where he helped to design, conduct, and communicate the results of around 50 clinical trials to bring new medicines to market.
Alongside his career Adrian also served on the leadership team of Jubilee Church London for more than a decade. He was diagnosed with blood cancer in May 2017 and is the founder of Blood Cancer Uncensored an online patient support website and forum. Adrian is passionate about helping people learn to approach suffering with hope and compassion.
Adrian has been a Christian writer since 2003 here at at Patheos. He has gained a reputation for communicating both theology and health information in an engaging manner. Adrian Warnock is a published author. He co-authored the book “Hope Reborn: How to Become a Christian and Live for Jesus” with Tope Koleoso. The book was published by Christian Focus in September 2014. Adrian’s background in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, church leadership, and more recently as a patient himself all combine to give him a unique perspective on healthcare, patient experiences, and the faith based implications of all these fields. Adrian has spent considerable time reflecting on the philosophy, psychology, and theology of suffering. His insights are valuable for anyone facing adversity. He has also explored the full spectrum of theological positions held by Christians on a range of other subjects, with a focus on following Jesus.
Adrian has a reputation for delivering complex messages simply in engaging articles, presentations, and interviews on podcasts, radio and TV. He qualified in 1995 with an MB BS medical degree from London University (in the USA this would be called an MD). Adrian also has post graduate qualifications in both Psychiatry (MRCPsych) and Pharmaceutical Medicine (MFFM and DipPharmMed).

Adrian’s work and life were suddenly put on hold several years ago, dealing with trying to avoid infections, not being able to work, risk of infections, and at one point exponential growth of his lymphocyte count. In a sense this gave him a head start experiencing some of the limitations COVID19 which the whole world faced.
