Kudos to my friend Steve Jones. He has had so many unfortunate things happen to him for his pro golf career after winning eight tournaments on the PGA Tour that included the 1996 U.S. Open. Really a stellar career of winning in a short period of time–eleven years. Yet he started the Tour in 1982, so that it took him six years to win. Steve’s troubles started after his U.S. Open victory with a motor bike accident in the desert... Read more

World Golf Hall of Fame PGA Tour pro golfer Vijay Singh won the Toshiba Classic today at Newport Beach, California, by one stroke at 11-under par to defeat Tommy Tolls, Tom Pernice, Jr., and Scott McCarron who tied for second. (I was playing that tournament 20 years ago. Makes me feel old.) Surprisingly, it was 55-year old Vijay’s first win on the Champions Tour. We all thought he would win on the old guy’s circuit much sooner than that. In... Read more

Forty-year old Englishman Paul Casey just won the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour at Palm Harbor, Florida. He shot a last round 5-under par 65 to defeat Pat Reed and Tiger Woods by one stroke. The crowds were out to watch the Tiger, and he did not displease them. Tiger kept parring all day today and then holed a 45-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th hole to give him a chance to tie Casey. Tiger hit two good... Read more

I was one of the millions of people who were friends to Billy Graham. He endorsed my first book, The Gospels Interwoven. I’ve treasured that as one of the honors of my life. Billy Graham loved to play golf. He sometimes participated in pro-am events on the PGA Tour. He spoke to our PGA Tour Bible Study group four different times. We once had a dinner at a Marriott hotel for all the pros at the Atlanta tournament, and Billy Graham... Read more

Phil Mickelson–47-year old superstar and crowd favorite–just got back in the winner’s circle minutes ago after a 4.5 year absence. He defeated 24-year old Justin Thomas–last’s year’s PGA Tour Player of the Year–on the first hole of a sudden playoff at the Mexico Championship in Mexico City, a World Golf Championship event on the PGA Tour. In what is quite an illustrious pro golf career, it was Phil’s 43rd win on the PGA Tour. This tournament was also the 8th... Read more

The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) announced three days ago that it will hold a week-long conference at the Vatican this April on how to perform exorcisms. The Church has always claimed that evil spirits or demons exist as personal entities, that they can indwell people in the form of demon possession, and that gifted Christians who are properly trained have the power to exorcise them from people in the name of Jesus. The Church will hold this conference due to... Read more

Long-hitting Justin Thomas–Player of the Year last year on the PGA Tour–won the first sudden-death playoff hole against Luke List just minutes ago in the PGA Tour’s The Honda Classic at PGA National’s Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was Thomas’ eight PGA Tour win. List is still searching for his first win. Luke List was the sole leader by one stroke over Justin Thomas starting this final round today. Midway through the last nine holes, both players... Read more
