The U.S. Senate will begin its trial of former President Donald Trump in a few days, on February 8th. The trial likely will last no more than a week. It remains to be seen whether or not the Senate will decide that witnesses may be called and questioned. Co-leader Patrick Reed shot 68 today at Torrey Pines Golf Course to win the Farmers Insurance Open by five strokes over five players who were tied for second. Reed easily marched to victory because no one really mustered a charge against him. Si Woo Kim just won The American Express golf tournament on the PGA Tour at LaQuinta Country Club near Palm Springs, California. He bested Patrick Cantlay, who shot an 11-under par 61 today, by one stroke with a 64 for a total 23-under par. Last Friday, 85-year old Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas announced that after about 15 years, the PA and alienated Hamas will join together to hold both presidential and parliamentarian elections.
