Quoting Quiverfull: Wearing Vagina Hats and Used Sanitary Napkins Sinful?

Quoting Quiverfull: Wearing Vagina Hats and Used Sanitary Napkins Sinful? July 8, 2017

Loriscommentersby Lori Alexander from The Transformed Wife – Empowerment By Doing As They Please?

Editor’s note: Oh please! They were pink pussy cat hats, not ‘Vagina Hats’ and I must have missed the sanitary napkin brigade. Lori’s answer to her commenter and her twisting of what was worn at the march shows just how thin-skinned and unthinking she is when challenged. She should be addressing negative comments directly, not erasing them or using them as a launching pad for another horrible post of hers.

Note to Lori: Please do not ever come to Central America if you are that squeamish about what other people wear! Most women I’ve seen here wear very tight leggings, short-shorts and very skimpy swimsuits and you know what?………. no one bats as eyelash, judges them and no men rape them. Imagine that, minding one’s own business and behaving.

In response to yesterday’s post about modesty, I received a comment that I want to write about since many women today have views about life that I don’t understand at all. Recently, there was a march in Cincinnati, Ohio where women took off their tops and walked around topless. In the big March on Washington DC, right after President Trump was inaugurated, the women wore vagina hats and bloody menstrual pads. All of this is beyond comprehension to me since I have never had any desire to do any of this. In fact, these things should cause shame and embarrassment in women.

Here is the comment in question: “Yes, that is exactly what some women believe (that they aren’t in any way responsible for men lusting at them no matter what they wear) because women don’t exist solely for men’s eyes. This is not strange. This is progress and empowerment. If you find empowerment in dressing modestly, please do so. I find empowerment in being able to choose to wear shorts when it’s hot outside (not that it’s anyone’s business but mine). I refuse to take responsibility for your or anyone’s husband or wife’s eyes.”

Therefore, all those women walking around topless and wearing vagina hats are doing this because they “feel” empowered and think this is progress. What is actually happening is that they are finding empowerment in their selfishness and pride. In the last days, the Bible states that people will be lovers of themselves and they will despise those who are good. They are doing the will of their father, the Devil, and are caught in his trap. They falsely believe they are “empowered” but they are actually in bondage to their sin and selfishness.

I have a neighbor who was ranting out ‘disgusting women wearing “pussy” hats. they should be ashamed, kids can see that stuff’ (eye roll)

  • Aloha

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves …” (II Timothy 3:1-2a)

You know, this has to rank up pretty high on the list of harmful Bible passages. The fear of the end times, certainty that it is now, and the sin of loving your own self.

These are all 3 very harmful ideas, all conveyed in such a short passage. Personally, I remember feeling guilty and conflicted any time I felt pride or did something to benefit my own self.

  • lady_black

I’ve heard that lie myself. Someone is telling them that, because they obviously didn’t see the hats. They were pink (and I also saw some in black, and white) knitted caps with pussycat ears. There were children wearing them in some cases.
Either someone is fomenting a lie that the hats looked like vaginas, or these people have very dirty minds, and that’s where their minds go. I hope you corrected your neighbor’s lies.

On Things Godly Women Say there’s a vacation pic of Aunt Lori wearing some pretty short shorts. At about the same time she was yammering on about modesty on her blog. https://thingsgodlywomensay.tumblr.com/post/162713909914/who-wears-short-shorts

My college has a tradition of selling chocolate lollipops shaped like vulvas. The buyer gets delicious chocolate, the money goes to women’s charities, and the overall message is vaginas and their owners have nothing to be ashamed of.

Even if Lori doesn’t appreciate their meaning, chocolate does have mood boosting properties. Perhaps a few pussy pops will help her relax 😉

    Its not disgusting…its hilarious!

People seem to think acting like bufoons makes them powerful.

    Love it!

I saw a photo of a woman wearing what was described as a vulva hat at the Women’s March. I thought it looked like a Georgia O’Keefe painting, and would not have noticed it had someone not identified it as a vulva. One woman, one hat. There was a sea of innocuous pussy hats. For heaven’s sake, there was a James Bond movie with a character called Pussy Galore – in 1964. I would bet anything that Lori’s husband, father or father-in-law has seen the movie Goldfinger. Where was the outcry from the prudes? When did pussy become a bad word or an evil idea?

  • AFo

The comment in question was perfectly reasonable, so of course Lori has to lash out with her hysterical nonsense. The fact that this is the de facto response across the QF world does not speak highly of the lifestyle.

  • Allison the Great

Lori would be afraid of chocolate. I’m pretty sure she’s a Dementor. She does meet all the criteria. I’m just sayin’. The only thing that’s missing is the hooded cloak and the ability to float in midair. I think being an uptight moron is just her disguise for the Muggle world.

I did a Google search on women’s marches in Cincinnati in June or July and nothing popped up. There was a protest planned when Trump was in Cincinnati in early June. When she says “recently” what does she mean? There was a women’s march in January in Cincinnati, so that is the only one I can think she is referring to.

If that is the case, why is she writing this now? She wrote a post back in January condemning the women’s marches. Where is her proof that there was a “recent” march in Cincinnati where women were topless and wearing bloody pads? *Crickets*

I think Lori is having a hard time getting new things to blog about. She has been writing about the same stuff since 2011. Though I’m sure she’s doubling down with all of the recent bad comments she’s received on her FB page, she has to be bored with it. I can’t believe her readers aren’t bored with her yet. She has nothing new offer.

  • They did kind of maybe look like a frontal schematic diagram of the vagina, uterus, and fallopian tubes, but the vagina itself is just a sheath. A vagina hat would be shaped like The Cat in the Hat’s hat, minus the brim.

  • lady_black

Only if the uterus in question belongs to a cat (which has a bifurcated uterus with two horns in which the kittens develop). Human uteri do not have horns or ear-like structures, they are shaped like a lightbulb (sort of). The fallopian tubes are adjacent structures.

  • B.A.

There was also a character nicknamed Pussy on “The Sopranos”. Though I doubt Lori is familiar with that show or never watched it due to the sex, violence, and cursing. She probably thought it was satanic or something. It was one of my favorite shows.

  • Nightshade

On ‘Are You Being Served?’ Mrs. Slocombe often spoke of her pussy-her cat, only dirty minds ever thought otherwise!

Of course I-and most people watching-always thought otherwise…

  • Jim Jones

    > they are actually in bondage to their sin and selfishness.

When I read this, is it wrong of me to want to punch the speaker in the head?

  • SAO

There are fringe groups that feel empowered going topless and there are fringe groups who feel modest wearing little-house-on-the-prairie outfits. That’s life.

I think progress is people wearing what they want for whatever crazy reason and not caring.

  • The Jack of Sandwich

Half of the kids HAVE those….

  • Suzanne Harper Titkemeyer

I think she pulled it, but one of the Lori watchers got screen caps. Lori can delete but she has to be quicker at it.

Thanks for the well wishes Mrs. P. I just took a 3 day vacation to Nicaragua, to a beach resort where I did all the Lori Alexander horrifying things, I went to the topless beach and wore only bikini bottoms, I drank copious alcoholic beverages and lived mostly in my two piece swimsuit…

  • Jo

I went searching of it and couldn’t find anything. Its appears to be the first time she has deleted Dear Dave and his wonderful comments.

  • Jo

However the comments from Trey and co on modesty were a ripper – we women must be our husbands sex slaves otherwise they will wander. I am beginning to think that Trey, Rob, Ken and Dave have NO self-control at all and don’t love their wives enough to stay faithful. Most men are just not like this (from my experience) – what spoilt boys these “men” are .

  • lady_black

Clothing is often worn for comfort and protection. On the comfort note, I sure was glad I had a few long, lightweight flowing dresses in the back of my closet when I had an outbreak of shingles on my right thigh. The jeans I typically wear (or any slacks) would have been painful beyond description.

  • Nightshade
  • Jo

Wow, just read all the comments around disgusting Dave, fell like throwing up

  • Nightshade

You know it’s bad when Trey is the voice of reason.

  • J’Marinde Shephard

As for your comment “In fact, these things should cause shame and embarrassment in women.”
I spent most of my life being shamed for having a body, much less a woman’s body, and for even bodily functions and not always being able to control them, and that is no way to treat a lady., much less a child. The damage of such an outrageously Puritanical/paternalistic environment opens women to being abused, victimized and forced to live lives of pure HELL. And then, to be shamed and blamed is beyond cruel. Why would you, as a woman, support, even foster and encourage such as you professed and proclaimed is archaic, outrageous and DAMN Shameful. You are telling all you girl-children that their bodies are mere shameful entities. Frankly, in my opinion and experience, for all your pretensions to wisdom, you are MIGHTILY OUT OF TOUCH and a damaging detriment to young girls and brutalized women everywhere – – and there are a LOT of us. Shame on you!

  • katiehippie

I have a much higher opinion of men than Lori does. A true man who isn’t tempted by every woman he sees in a skimpy outfit. He thinks that is ridiculous. For wanting to honor men so much, they sure have a low opinion of them.

  • Nightshade
  • Nightshade

Most of us do, I think.

  • lady_black

    I like that…

  • Nightshade

Wish I knew where the design originated so I could give due credit!

  • Nightshade

He’s beyond disgusting, he’s even too much for Aunt Lori’s male fans to take.

  • gimpi1

So, someone dressing comfortably is “selfish” and demanding that everyone dress in ways that make you comfortable is “virtuous.” Yeah, that makes sense…

    Really, I’m seeing a ton of “opposite-day” stuff right now. It’s weird…
