No Longer Quivering
One of NLQ’s SASBN members, Bruce Gerencser of The Life and Times of Bruce Gerencser, has written a piece explaining the mental and emotional gyrations that the clergy members of the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist go through. It explains that mind set in detail for those of us that have never had exposure to this variety of Fundamentalist Christianity. Guys like Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church, Jack Schaap of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana and a huge host of others we’ve quoted here.
It’s titled ‘Why Many IFB Preachers Don’t Have Peaceful, Contented Lives’ and Bruce would know. He was a pastor at different Independent Fundamentalist Baptist churches before he managed to find his way out. There’s nothing like survivor testifying to their journey that carries such authority on the subject.
So many of the pastors who are IFB-affliated we quote here seem delusional, angry without much of a grip on reality, devoid of compassion or empathy for others.
