No Longer Quivering
As I’ve mentioned before the archives at Debi and Michael Pearl’s website seem to be fire-bombed of much content. It’s been scrubbed clean in most areas. No one knows the real reason. Could it have been Gabriel Pearl’s divorce? Are the Pearls being held liable for encouraging the physical abuse of children?
But every now and then a very old piece pops up. This is from 1997, and it is Michael yet again claiming that boys are mini-jerks because God designed them that way. He goes on to say that it is the aim of the federal government to create a sexless society where men and boys behave like women. Paranoid much?
Why are men in this culture so determined to define manhood as a violent and awful state of being a jerk?
Wow, not really what the government is doing, or has funding for, not even then. Plus I know Michael has never had a pet cat because they do much more than contentedly purr and lay around the house. They also play, bite and scratch. This is a man that does not need to be anywhere near animals, or children in any capacity.
Whenever I read though allegations like this the only thing I can think is: Where is the evidence?
Why is it that all medical intervention and government is always bad in the eyes of guys like Pearl? Ritalin was over prescribed when it came out, but it was hardly a government plot. Some children were helped by the drug. No grand conspiracy or plot here.
Boys and girls are different in some ways, yes, we get that. But not in the ways Mr. Pearl implies. He goes into tin foil hat territory here.
